    It's totally worth it and a real bargain.

    I have the DCD996, DCG406 and DCF887 skins and paid well over $500 (without batteries) last year.

    The DCD996 and DCG406 get used nearly daily, sometimes on jobs that have killed other drills and grinders (Bosch and Makita). I've had zero need to get 54V batteries or skins.
