I’ve got a Philips pressure cooker and it’s the most used bit of kit we have. It’s great if you have kids. Can leave the food cooking and come back to it at your leisure. Won’t overcook or overflow and it’ll stay warm this would be the same thing?

    • lol that's ur loss..i use mine all the time

I'll be honest I don't use mine often, but my dad uses it constantly. It's great if you love stews and risotto especially. I just realised that I don't like the sort of meals it cooks as much as something like grilled/roasted meats and steamed/grilled/roasted vegetables.

      It's your fault then?
I find it to be very handy for things like risotto, soups and stews etc.

        So not much use then

        • whatever. don't diss it until you've actually used it.

Thanks, I bought the red model

  • Turns out to be cheaper with 8% cashback on amazon. $224.20 - 8% = $206.08

  • doesn't everyone on ozbargain have one now from that $150 amazon deal?

  • Great unit when they work but the pressure cooker function id a known problem

    • what's wrong with the pressure cooker function?

      • Doesnt hold pressure. Gets an error message saying to clean a certain part. You clean diseassemble and still nothing. We have this problem and if you google it its very common with a lot of returns. But when it works its awesome!

  • I have this cooker and wouldn't recommend it.

it's great when it works, but every now and then it throws an error saying the water level is too low and to add water, even when you add water it throws the same message.

Bigger annoyance is that it will take 20 minutes to build up pressure, then release all pressure and throw an error warning, very annoying as you never know what dishes it will do this.

    • sounds like yours is faulty. mine builds up pressure very quickly. lightning quick compared to the Philips pressure cooker I had before this one.

      • Is just that he likely has food sticking to the bottom. That will cause the error 24 to pop up.

We use ours almost every night for spagh bol, curries, risotto, soups, etc.

        • @Jradd - Even when cooking liquid based things it still throws error 21 and 24 saying add water.

Sometimes it works fine and other times it won't function.

      • @keejoonc - Mine takes anywhere between 10 - 20 minutes to build up pressure.

        How long does your take?

        • I haven't timed it but it's nowhere near 20 mins. If I was using the function it only takes a few mins. If starting from cold maybe a few mins on top.
