Where to relax & explore in March?

Hi All, we are looking to book something for our honeymoon in March next year and were hoping to get some suggestions. We're money conscious but don't mind being a bit more financially relaxed for the occasion. At a high level we'd be looking to relax but with plenty to explore to keep us busy… natural scenery, warm/hot, old ruins & snorkeling are our biggest wants.

Feel free to share experiences, any ideas would be appreciated :)

Yeah given that OP is from Brisbane, I'd agree with Cairns/Port Douglas. Spend some time in Cairns, then a few nights up in the Daintree for peaceful relaxing

March is Cyclone season… not really ideal!

I'd be looking South ie to the NSW Central Coast.
It's driveable, and has a great mix of land and sea opportunities, plus March will be into the Shoulder season, so accommodation prices should be on the decline.

If you want a flight and don't want to go international look to WA South Western corner. There's some lovely swimming spots and decent snorkelling, plus the Karri forests and Margaret River Region Wineries and Breweries.
If that's too much driving, Adelaide has good snorkelling at Port Noarlunga, with McLaren Vale Wineries and Breweries adjacent, all only 30 minutes drive from Adelaide Airport (45 minutes from the CBD) and March is Fringe time in Adelaide so the CBD is buzzing.

    do you have passports?

if you had asked a few days ago then you could have picked up tickets to Korea for $372 flying out of GC

wait for another Japan jestar deal usually ~$380. then get an internal flight to Okinawa. or even Kagoshima. kagoshima has some very beautiful coast lines.

Probably aren't going to be doing too much snorkelling in Korea in March!

  • As someone else mentioned, that's Cyclone season for a lot of tropical destinations.

Consider Hawaii, Maldives or even Western Australia at this time of year.

  • Thanks guys, those are some good idea's… and we didn't think about cyclone season either. We're currently leaning more towards somewhere international presently although we do Love the sound of Cairns/Port Douglas.
