  • The 512GB is not listed as a bargain XD

  • man i just ordered a 256gb from the same seller like 4 hours ago for $60

    • cancel and reorder! send them a message at least…you never know!

      • +4

Cancel and reorder all for $4.04, better to go outside and enjoy yourself, play with the kids or the dog or the wife/husband!!

        • +1

Screw that, $4 you get two McMuffins!

  • +4

Didn't we have a beach and moan about Apus / Shopping Square / Zapals yesterday (all same company)?

    • What was the moaning about?

    • all same. Confirmed. at least shopping square as I experience it myself

    • +1

Are they zapals? Shat I didn't know once they got the 2 bad names they start another.
Zaps I ordered an item that took 7 days shipping. 2 months on they hadn't even sent it. Frak them.

  • How did they manage to charge the postage that high and still having ebay plus ? Didn’t ebay already cancelled all these who abuse the ebay plus shipping privileges?

  • +11

They have a bunch of different, but almost identical listings.

I bought from here today which was slightly cheaper for the 128GB: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Micro-SD-Card-32GB-64GB-128GB-16…

    • +4

Looks like you're right, it's cheaper and you don't need eBay plus (32.50×80%=26 vs 33.68×80%=26.944+delivery right?). Nice find, I might also get a 128gb too, so thanks!

      • This option is $20 postage for me

        • +1

Is that in the checkout, with your postcode/address?
For my location (and most other postcodes), it shows:

Free postage for Standard Postage (Standard delivery)
AU $<depends on location> for Express delivery

e.g. free in postcode 1000,2000,3000,4000,5000, but for 6000 there's no standard postage option

So it looks like it's cheaper IF you're in a free postage location?

(Also, hope I'm using the Neg right; I just want people to be aware of this option that may be cheaper, especially without eBay Plus)

          • @Kagaku: Hm I'm only getting express postage option which is $20. Express or click and collect.

          • +1

@Kagaku: Thanks - that makes sense. I'm in the 6000s

    • Yeah, me too. Ordered a 128GB one at the start of the sale. Was scratching my head now when I saw this thread, & thought there was a little price jacking. But as you mention, it's a different listing, from the same company, for the same product.

    Thank you, come again!

  • About to pull the trigger - are these SD cards good for phones? Using the S10+ at the moment

    • Yes, best price/performance/reliability or close to best. Most popular however, that I'm sure of. Basically Samsung is the biggest flash memory fabricator so that's why.

      • I'll be storing movies music and pics on it mainly, you reckon it'd do fine for that on a phone over 2+ years? I agree Samsung make all sorts of storage devices from SSDs to SD Cards to USB Drives, etc. I think I'll trust em and go with it…

        • For a phone, yeah absolutely. Even cameras would be fine but not IP camera (continuous writing). But at this price, why not?

        • I think I'll trust em …

what choice you got - it’s basically Samsung or Sandisk/WD?

  • I bought the 128Gb cheaper just a few days ago from same seller… from apat's link

    Fellow OzBargainers,

You should be aware that apusauction on eBay is actually Zapals Tech Corporation Pty Limited which is based in China! I found this out when I purchased a Samsung SD card in their previous deal (which I promptly canceled). Their products are not Australian stock, so Samsung Australia wouldn't provide warranty coverage.
In their eBay auction, they claim that "Item location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia". They do drop-shipping via an Australian address, so, that's a plain lie!
Also, lots of people have reported issues dealing with "Zapals / Shopping Square / Apusexpress / Apus Auction" (yes, it's the same company):
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/431849
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/368351

    You've been warned!

    • Where do you recommend buying micro SD cards from?

    • +1

      Hi Vrsac

Shopping Square / Apusexpress / Apus Auction has NO relationship with Zapals.com (the business you mentioned above)

It might be a chance to receive your Shopping Square order with the packaging of "Zapals.com" on it. It's because "Zapals.com" was one of our suppliers (items are shipped by our AU warehouse NOT from oversea)

If you have any problem with your order from us (Shopping Square / Apusexpress / Apus Auction), you could PM me I might be able to help.

      cheers
      Dan

        Hello apusauction store rep,

"Shopping Square / Apusexpress / Apus Auction has NO relationship with Zapals.com (the business you mentioned above)"

If that's the case, then why did apusauction eBay transaction come up as Zapals Tech Corporation Pty Limited on my PayPal account? (I bought a Samsung SD card).
Also, after I cancelled the order, money was refunded by Zapals Tech Corporation Pty Limited. Unless you can present some evidence, zapals.com=apusauction in my books.

        • +1

Zapals Tech Corporation Pty Ltd has no relationship Zapals.com (the business as vrsac mentsioned in the post), but unfortunately name is similar)

Zapals Tech Coportation Pty Ltd is 100% own by Australia Company.

          • @danilochan: "Zapals Tech Coportation Pty Ltd is 100% own by Australia Company"

So I checked it, and it is indeed a registered Australian company:
            https://connectonline.asic.gov.au/RegistrySearch/faces/landi…

Still, Zapals Australia is a part of Zapals China/Hong Kong. Also, Shopping Square is domain is registered by Danilo Chan from Apus Corporation Pty Ltd (the same Store Rep replying here in this thread).
            https://www.whois.com/whois/shoppingsquare.com.au

So, my statement from above still stands. Danilo Chan has registered multiple Australian business for Zapals China and does drop-shipping from China/Hong Kong. The number of complains on various sites confirms my doubts about the legitimacy of his businesses.
Have a look at this thread with complains dating back to 2008!
            https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/765749

If you're really an Australian business, why don't you post details of your Australian warehouse where supposedly you ship products from (for all three companies).

      • us (Shopping Square / Apusexpress / Apus Auction)

        why three brands selling same?

        • it gives them greater coverage on eBay in case one of the accounts gets closed for misleading customers.

      • +1

        Hi Danilochan,

why are you writing that Zapals is not the company when ABN, Shopping Square communications, and Paypal transactions says Zapals is definitely involved?

        • +2

Zapals Tech Corporation Pty Ltd has no relationship Zapals.com (the business as vrsac mentsioned in the post), but unfortunately name is similar)

Zapals Tech Coportation Pty Ltd is 100% own by Australia Company.

    • It said delivery 18/6 - 20/6 when I ordered. 9 calendar days to arrive.

Now, 24 hours later they sent an email.

      1. re:Vrsac's point, the email is for my purchase from ebay seller apusauction, and says it's from ShoppingSquare.com.au - Division of Zapals Tech Corporation Pty Ltd.

      2. The email claims they need 3-8 working days just to handle the order (so they might not post till after it's supposed to be here)

I'll hold off judgement for now and see if this is delivered on time.

      • Hi fourndit

If your order is delayed, you can PM me, I might be able to help.

        cheers

        • Thank you for your offer.

          Let's see how it goes

  • Negging due to shady business practices, as danilochan has demonstrated.

    • Agree. So much evidence only if you do a simple Google search. See my reply to Danilo Chan above. (the owner of all three named Corporations).

  • -1

I'm also negging due to long deliveries and what all of you said above. All same company. I just received my item after 2 weeks. Feel like I want to return it back to them if I'm not going to get my aus warranty.

  • +2

Just a heads up. Keep an eye on postage times with these guys if you have eBay Plus.
The "Guaranteed Delivery By <Date>" eBay plus shipping guarantee means if they miss that arrival date eBay will give you a $10 voucher code.

I've purchased a few cards from these guys very recently, and both have missed the Guaranteed shipping dates, scoring me 2 x $10 voucher codes which is a nice bonus.

    • Nice one. Thank you for letting us know :)
Do we have to ask eBay about it or is it automatic?

      • +1

You have to ask. If your Guaranteed item is late, there is a "Report Late Delivery" option against the item. It's pretty much single click to report it, with no verification needed, and the $10 voucher showed up instantly.

        https://pages.ebay.com.au/shipping/guaranteed-delivery.html

        • Hi apat,

This listing only says delivery dates are estimated. I think we cannot claim the $10 for late delivery on this item.

Thank you for introducing me to guaranteed delivery times. I hadn't heard of them before.

          • @SomeGuyOnOzB: No worries.

Try the link I posted earlier on this deal : https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Micro-SD-Card-32GB-64GB-128GB-16…

Same company. Pretty much the same prices. BUT guaranteed shipping dates on the leading so you can take advantage of the poor shipping speed of this seller.

            • @Spun: I purchased via the OP's link. The card I got was a good discount on the OP's link vs the guaranteed delivery. I'll see how this plays out, but will check next time about guaranteed shipping dates.

  • Would that Samsung memory card be suitable to use inside an android phone to expand storage? It's a Nokia 8. Thanks :)

  • My order arrived. It was sent using a tracked letter

Late but only 1 day late.

From the asian characters all over the front of the packaging (and lack of English), I'd say this is not Australian stock.
I note the original listing never said it was Australian stock.

I'm not sure how to test SD cards these days; I will run HD Tune on my 256 GB card and post the results later

      • Can H2testw test data disks 256 GB in size? Last time I tested a smaller card, the version I downloaded said it could only test a bit of it.

Error scan shows 100% is ok and the size given is around 256 GB.

Benchmark - I don't know what speed my PC's built in SD card reader is, or if the adaptor I have makes an impact, but:
        - average 73.5 MB/sec
        - minimum 69.9 MB/sec
        - maximum 81.6 MB/sec

I'm guessing the error scan and size given was the important test.

Data card has the following printed on the back

MB-MC256G (tick symbol in a circle on right hand side)
MBMCEGV and a bunch more letters (product id or serial number?)
KNFT and a bunch more letters (product id or serial number?)
