Any bargains? or can’t anticipate prices due to price jacking?

    • +27

Not sure why you got Negged, it's a true story. Got your back here have a +

      • +14

        Yep + from me.

Last 3 sales had price jacking from some sellers.

        • +10

And one from me too except my comment will be negged - watch.

          • +4

@Taegukgi: Sorry, I can only neg you once.

          • @Taegukgi: Phantom loves @dealbot.

      • +3

Lol his post went from -6 to +14 really fast

These 20% off multiple store deals are next to useless
      without search function.

      • +3

        Luckily there's a search link.

    • +2

Ok but there is still possibility to find at least 20 deals which will get posted on ozbargain on 11 June from these eBay promotions..isn't it

    • +6

Videopro Bose QC35 II - was $393, now $433, a 10.2% increase over its recent price and a 22.7% increase over its May price. Call it whatever you want but I call it intentionally misleading enticement which contravenes consumer law. Who cares? Certainly not the ACCC.

      • +2

It seems they are too busy watching Kogan (fined at least 2x now) for any more price hikes before sales to worry about the ones who do it more often

  • +8

Thanks in advance for the search link.

    • I wish I didn't have to thanks in advance :(

      • +1

I'm on a diet so i can be buff just like you.

A2A doesn’t have anything on EBay anymore since awhile now.

    • +1

Ye, noticed that. But wondering if maybe they'll bring stuff back for this sale? Guess we'll know soon enough :)

      • Wanted to purchase MDR Z1R ($1600-20%) would have been the best price in Australia..alas!

    • +1

New account just to say that they aren't coming back until early July. Probably had enough of listening to their brick-and-mortar stores bitch about their sales numbers being decimated as they couldn't match the %20 off.

      • I thought so as well (issue from competition)…. Minidisc last month did indicate to me something similar…but what’s stopping others to open eBay stores & make use of 20% off sale to boost sales ?

        • Not everyone can join the race to the bottom. However, it’s inevitable when you’re just moving boxes.

  • Honestly im broke broken.

  • +2

Sydneytec going from PEOFY to PYLON without skipping a beat

    • Same with DCXpert, Radio Parts, Ausluck, Appliance Central, etc…

      • Must be an ever reducing pool of available buyers out there blowing their $$$$ on EOFY sales.

        • +4

Don’t worry we’ll have the new tax cuts to temporarily boost funds to be spent on 20% off sales… oh wait…

    • +27

      Waiting for search link, please

      • And thank you in advance.

  • Anyone recommend a clothes dryer?

Usually too lazy to input all the sellers for a mass eBay search, but here ya go - Search Link Hopefully got them all.

Please addicted to audio come back to eBay, we love you we miss you, we need you.

    • +3

      You sound creepy…

      • Umm, that's what she said?

That's what they all say really… Sadface

    • addicted to audio

They’re on track to getting out of rehab

    • +2

I spoke to them in store, they said that once they accounted for their time, fees, postage, etc, in the end they lost money on their ebay store, and it just wasn't worth it. They have their own online store.

They were very friendly and helpful, maybe send them an email or ask them if you're after a particular deal.

    Beware Sydney Mobiles

They're far more expensive than competitors
Nokia 5.1 plus is $333 | HN have it for $199

and in some cases selling way above RRP
    Samsung A30 is $424 | RRP is $379

    • +1

Aren't Sydney Mobiles/Allphones/Mobileciti the same people?

    • They should just close down

  • +23

These post should be delete as those sellers just price jack.

    • +8

      They should be banned

      • They already know about the deal as they cover some of the marketing costs

        • Let me just slot in this green to Feng Shui those two reds.

    • You need to know your prices. There are some genuine good deals out there.

The item I recently purchased was $499 at JB and Office Works. $489 at Bing Lee and $449 at Centre Com.
Sydneytec had it for $459 on eBay and with 20% off I paid $367.20. Pretty good deal.

      1. Know your prices
      2. Stay away from the companies that regularly jack prices up (some over RRP)
      3. Don’t bitch that items like iPads and AirPods are jacked up or not 20% off. Some stuff is never cheap.

Companies can do what they like, but the ones increasing items above RRP are scum.

  • +9

Oh wow… I searched for AirPods using the search link and found this bargain for $719 ($575.20 with discount code). What a bargain!

    Australian Stock

Australian customers may utilise eBay discount coupons on OzBargain to get up to 20% discount

    • That whole store is Carrot Top-funny.

Any chances of Sony WH-1000XM3 popping up in the item list.

    • Already there… $375

    • Ahh thats all I'm looking for

      "Waiting"for the magic $300 mark

      • -2

the bose qc35 ii are better

        • I've got both.

My experience has been that the Sony pair has better noice cancelling, better battery life (including idle battery usage) as well as better sound.

  • +11

Lol the cheapest macbook pro is $260 more expensive than apple direct

    • +6

Yep. Happens every time. Ebay deals like this should be banned

    • Should remember there are also education discounts for iPads, macs and their accessories.

    • +1

Picked up the last model (MPXW2X/A) 512GB touch bar new / sealed for $1777 at David Jones last week. Got the last one in Melbourne CBD, other stores may still have some…

    • Every eBay % off post…..

      1) Search for iPad, MacBook, AirPods. Realise that they are jacked up and not a good deal.
      2) Complain these % off deals are useless.
      3) Wait for next weeks deal and repeat.

Possibly people will start to see the pattern.

(not having a go at your comment as your facts are correct)

  • Not a single bargain is listed in the title.

    • +4

      “Bargains have prices”

    • +3

Funny,my neg was removed it by the usual suspects.

      • Yep, mine removed too. Hmmm

  • Was considering to buy stuff from radio parts but they have jacked the price up from 250ish to 300… So yeah nah lol

  • Wouldn't mind if addicted to audio actually put some stock on their store..

    • It's weird they are listed, I was in their shop and they said they closed down their ebay store.

  • +3

These X% off eBay deals are a frequent occurrence now. Each time there is considerable price jacking. Bargains have prices. Surely there is a better way for Ozbargain to reign it in.

  • +7

Bargains have prices. Most decent items have prices above full RRP before the “20% off”.

Time to stop this misleading and deceptive conduct being promoted here.

    • Actually i'm mostly with you - these tech outfits are notorious for their price jacking, but if you're on the ball the discount code can pay off.

BTW it will be good to see Kogan go down with his Mickey Mouse price jacking. I mean he didn't even have the courtesy to make any attempt to mask it.

      • +2

You appear to be conflicted. You've voted this deal up in full knowledge of the rorting yet want to bag just one of those rorters.

        • +2

My upvote is entirely consistent with my comments.

I'm saying price jacking is notorious generally, but that they don't all do it, so there's a bargain to be had after you've waded through all those price jackers. The Kogan comment is a distinct point.

While The Phantom often feels conflicted, this is not a circumstance where that arises. How dare you suggest otherwise of one of your fav superheroes.
