I'm out of Ozbargain Negs thanks to you guys, or I'd vote this rubbish down again.
    It ain't helping TA.
Name some specific bargains, instead of posting GOULASH POSTS.

For eBay posts you're not actually allowed to share any deals until the coupons go live. Those are the rules set by OzBargain.

If so why not wait till Tuesday , find a few good deals and post it up?

        This isn't Oznews .

Upvoting a post (I won't call it as a deal ) without any bargains in the title or the body is just a crazy act.

        Use your vote wisely mate

Have you got a time machine? Then that'll be possible :)

We shall see what it's worth when the coupon goes live. If there are 0 related bargains posted then it was a bad vote. If there is 1 or more then it was a well spent vote.

@Clear: The issue isn’t about promoting a % off deal before its live, it’s about the fact that these deals are not genuine bargains due to being above RRP prices or price jacked. Repeatedly.

            • +1

@Bellpop: Oh for sure everyone already knows there is price jacking above RRP. That's eBay sales 101. The difference is that there are almost always genuine bargains within the price jacking.

However my original comment was correct. People complain that no bargains are listed, but that's because OzBargain doesn't allow it incase of price fluctuations. Aka price jacking ;)

            • +3

@Bellpop: They MAY be "bargains" to some but contrary to consumer law they are often not 20% off normal prices. Thread titles for these "deals" should say UP TO 20% off, caveat emptor. Alternatively ban the bl..dy things.

          • +2

@Clear: The problem here is the people are upvoting the poster rather than a deal itself.

Ozbargain's voting system is a joke.

Too many good deals gone unnoticed and some bad post like that got into front page for nothing.

            • +5

@[Deactivated]: Unfortunately that's how popularity works in the real world. Though these 'popularity votes' are quite low compared to recent eBay deals.

And interesting enough no sign of you or Bellpop complaining about this issue or anything really in the other front page eBay deals (1, 2, 3, 4). But upon checking some of TA's eBay deals there you are. Hmmmm that's suspect?

              • @Clear: I’m missing the point here, boss. If a problem becomes apparent you’re not allowed to mention it unless you noticed it the very first time it happened? Is that it?

If that’s it, I’m not sure if that’s how it works ‘in the real world’. Not sure why you’re taking any of this so personally, either. You seem like a good bloke.

At the end of the day this practice would be up for the ACCC’s shonky awards, and it’s great that a crowd powered site such as ozbargain can bring it to light :)

No doubt this will be down voted or removed due to it being a personal attack haha just like my neg was removed for no reason dispute 100+ plus votes hmmm go democracy 🥳

                • @Bellpop: Nothing personal and I'm really not upset about it either. My point is that I've noticed a pattern of specific people targetting the eBay posts with these issues only when it's TA posting the deal and not others. To me it seems like he's specifically being targeted due to his popularity and the comments made here confirm that.

The ACCC's position on the case is that eBay itself isn't liable as they're a marketplace. Rather the individual stores are to blame and if they break a specific set of rules they can get into trouble for it as we've seen with Kogan.

The long weekend negging crowd has stopped by, I see.

    • Probably have had to work over the long weekend. I'd be salty too.

      • Probably have had to work over the long weekend.

With a brand new pay cut, as well…

        • Oh yeah I forgot about penalty rates. I get time off instead according to my contract so I'm unlucky!

Wow. Sheepies are here I see

Good one. People should be shamed for being informed consumers, right.

  • Any Deals on QC25's I cant seem to work out the search?

    • eBay get away with a lot by saying they are not a seller and turn a blind eye to any price jacking.

However, eBay should ensure these deals are searchable.

It can not be that hard and I only assume eBay deliberately make it difficult.

  • I have lost count how many eBay "sales" have been on recently, the %, max discount, and expiry date on the code. Crazy…

Waiting for the day that eBay makes a mistake with their "promotion" and some deals of the century to happen.

    • And now price goes back down dishonest videopro

  • Thanks again Tightarse!

Picked up a sound system that's almost sold out now!

  • Any s10+ dual/hybrid

  • I picked up some iPad Pro accesseries from Eastlake Electronics. I got $5 off from the store for spending $25 in total (on iPad Pro screen protector and case). Then I got another $4.20 off from the code.

Thanks Tightarse, I just purchased a Panasonic UB820 4K Blu-Ray player from Videopro for $453.25 after they dropped their price an extra $50 yesterday and kept it at that price today! Very happy I waited.

Thanks tightarse just picked up a new laptop (Lenovo e490s), seems like a good deal for the price. I almost purchased the regular e490, but the huge chin and the plastic bottom case put me off.

  • +1

    Pile on the price jacking

  • +2

Teds always seems reasonable (as in their pre-prices are just plain RRP but they don't jack and many of the items hardly ever get discounted (like genuine camera batteries and some lenses) so 20% off is good

    • Too bad there is a 300 cap and 20% is more like over $600 off.

  • I bought a Lenovo X1 Yoga (Gen 3) (i7, 16GB, WQHD 14") refurbished from Grays Online for $1700 with PEOFY code. I was a bit wary of refurbed stuff, but had read enough comments saying the products are always good. This laptop is like brand new. It's got 4 cycles on the battery. No scratches or anything. I'm really happy with it. $3500 when new.

  • Wish it wasnt max $300 discount :(

    • Ebay has been capping $200-300 recently.
I want to know if there will be a higher cap in the near future as I'm looking for an expensive lens.

      • Im hanging out to buy a 400mm F2.8 IS iii… So the $300 max is a killer…

  • Search link not working for me :(

  • If this discount wasnt capped at $300, I would have purchased the DJI Mavic 2 Pro…

  • What a surprise dodgy video pro drops the price of qc23 after the 20% expires
