Also free, but on XB360 only is Defiance.

Correct. Fingers crossed they use the extra power of the next gen system to have a more broad back compat solution that doesn't require them to manually enable every game after tweaking them individually.

Skate 2 was amazing. I was hoping for Mercenaries 2 and Dirt 2. But they did get most of the good ones.

I think Microsoft have done a good job, they've converted a lot of games. Once XBox One to Scarlett conversion is finished, they may (may) return to converting those older titles.
It would be great if their actions bring all XBox One games, and the currently Backwards compatible titles to Scarlett.
I was always hopeful for SSX Tricky.

Update: For anyone interested, I was able to fix this issue by using a VPN (US server), per this Reddit comment. I only tried again (and found the solution) after experiencing the same issue with this deal.
Dammit! The one game I was waiting for to get an X update was Alan Wake, but now they're closing the doors for current gen back compat… Guess I'll have to wait till next gen…
I wonder if the music licencing issues where a problem with Alan Wake?

As far as I know all Xbox One games will be backwards compatible on Scarlett so you won't have to wait on next gen :)
Alan Wake is backwards compatible, but it's not X enhanced. It plays at a resolution of 540p, so a 4k update would've helped.

Only Microsoft knows, unfortunately. The only way to do so is to buy through the Xbox 360 console itself.
