  • the HDMI is 1080 ?

  • Yep 1080 support. Won't up convert, so HD set top box / PVR etc OK

Might not be a bad deal at all, even for a refurb…a few minor drawbacks for BD audio it seems, but at the price point…hmmm!

  • 3D?

  • I was actually thinking of getting it only for the HDMI, but i run Optical on my Sony amp which is 10 years old. Still works fine just getting this may be going backwards in sound quality. Has anyone got one of these or a simular brand and wish to make any comments on sound quality?

  • this is a very basic amp, all it has is hdmi in/out and 5.1/DTS, i own this amp.

i bought this exact amp about 2.5 years ago for $250 (@ JBHIFI) and then again bought it a year ago for my brother for $189 @ JBHIFI (30% off sale), this model is very old.

but its a great standard 5.1 amp….and sound quality is pretty damn good when using digital optical (note: it only has one Digital Optical audio Input) and 5.1 or DTS. but offcourse u need decent speakers.

also never had a problem with it and would recommend it highly for people just wanting a cheap basic 5.1 amp

and the bluetooth addon is like $100 on its own….but it works soo good playing tunes through a samsung galaxy 2!

    • "and the bluetooth addon is like $100 on its own"

thats a good feature thing is 85% of people these days own a iPhone and that function would be pointless! dam iPhone..:(

      • Iphone 4, Ipod video, Ipad all had Wifi and Bluetooth.

that function would be pointless! dam iPhone

        Errrr - what?

I stream music from my iPhone to my Car Stereo using Bluetooth, and also to my Media Player and computer and laptop too.

What part of Bluetooth is "pointless"?

        • Absolutely! If anybody wants BT capability on their AV gear, just grab the Belkin Bluetooth Music Receiver; heaps cheaper than the OEM BT adapters for all receivers, and works great! :)

  • Says 3 x Component video inputs at the top, but the features at the bottom says 2. The zoom in picture of the back only shows 2 as well. A shame, was looking for an inexpensive A/V receiver for the folks with at least 3 video ins.

    • 2x HDMI + 2x component + 2x S-video + 2x composite = 8x video ins, technically! ;)
