Wesfarmers has announced in plans to spend $230 million for Catch group.
Plans to bring Kmart and target into digital age lol.

Still has the ACCC hurdle to get over but long term plans include using the group to bring Kmart and targets e commerce divisions into the future.

Catch will continue to run as an independent conpany with some fusions in the back end for the group with Kmart etc

  • After someone posted this, I was thinking about Catch being the only multi category site of note in Australia. Did think it would be Amazon doing the buying though…

Surprised they didn't use that money to open an Officeworks in UK.

    • After the disaster that is Bunnings, they won't be touching the UK for a little while.

What a waste of money.. Catch used to be good when it first came out, then it started just selling crap at slightly reduced prices. Their pop-up stores are abysmal

    • 1 deal every 24 hours…. now a $230m company!

  • Unfortunately a lot of everyday people think Catch when you say you're looking for bargains so it's a smart move.

Would be good to see a lot of Kmart products being available to purchase online and being shipped to your door rather than their current horrible setup. Anko has been pumping out good products but they sell out fast.

There is some good bargains on catch sometimes. Every so often they give a $10 coupon, I have used it to buy Hi-tech hiking shoes at $70 vs $120 from Anaconda when discounted. Bought dog food, Garmin Inreach. Everytime I had a better price from Catch than anywhere else. But it takes time and patience.
