Just went to the SA Reynella store and they are 100% out, despite what it says on the webpage. They said that this is a product that usually doesn't get stocktaken and so it didn't get removed from the system.
Might be the same for other stores.

It's still double the price of the RGB strips on AliExpress. $13 for 5m RGB with control and remote and that's before discounts. Or by the metre for just strip.
Might be a fair trade off if you don't want to wait for shipping. But yeah go with AliExpress if you can wait.

There were a few comments in a previous Jaycar deal denouning them for blattently copying Jon Oxer's (Freetronics) design and components, which is IP Infringement.

Wow, that is disappointing. I wasn't aware of that so thank you for bringing it to my attention.
My Freetronics kit came from Jaycar so it must have been before they started selling their clone. It makes me wonder how many other products they are cloning and selling.
This deal is probably a way of recovering their costs for the discontinued LED strip.
I don't think boycotting is needed considering they have pulled the kit but still should be aware of their past actions.
