How is the visibility at night? Do the cameras support onvif to use with other NVRs?
The other thing is, Swann may stop supporting the mobile remote streaming for your CCTV model after 1-2 years. Which happened to mine, the "SwannView Link" doesn't work anymore after 1.5 years of installation. I kept telling everyone about this because Swann just ignoring customers, please check Swann's Google app "SwannView Link" recent reviews if you don't believe
Was about to buy Dahua from Aliexpress for my home. I know this is cannot be compared but is it a good budget deal to consider?
I bought an older model with 4 3MP cameras for about $700 a couple of years ago. Single cameras run to $200-$300 so I think this is a pretty good deal. If you don’t want to hook up all 8 cameras you have some spares.
I am happy with mine, even though the older system is a bit clunky.
The 5MP cameras will give good resolution during the day, but will take up more space on the HDD, so you might have less back-up. I get about 10 days, with one camera running 24/7 and 3 others about 12 hours on/ 12 hours motion detection.
Interestingly I have seen reviews of other systems suggesting the lower resolution cameras work better at night.
Afterthought: Does “new condition” mean refurbished or just reboxed?
Thats true. I've seen(Dahua) 2mp giving better results in low light compared to 8mp. Swanns head sensing / night vision is also crap.
One may have to upgrade HDD to use 8 cameras.I think i'll pass on this and go with Dahua from AliExpress.

With Swann, even the items I bought as refurb/returns looked completely brand new, so I'd take them at their word!

Does it have a decent web interface that does not rely on Active-X?Even I am looking for security system for home and I would like to know if this is a good product or not.
I will also appreciate if you can recommend any alternatives.
Camera quality is good. They are PoE.
Only issue is playback on mobile is pain & live video take 4-5 seconds to load.
