The B50 and S8 are both newly released / announced models. B50 replaces our original B44. S8 replaces our original S6 (the S8 is a huge improvement here, it's absolutely amazing for the price and I can't think of anything that comes even close).
We've spent over a year testing and developing these new models and we're really excited to finally release them. Because they are all new you wont find any reviews yet but we do have a long history of delivering great value and performance in this space. The A44/B44 have 4" woofers and 1" tweeters and are rear ported (meaning putting it too close to or far from walls can affect bass response).
These new ones have pretty massive 5.25" woofers and are front ported too.
I'm already pretty satisfied with my A44s but boy I'd like to give these a listen.

The B50 are good for both desktop and home theatre use. Unfortunately we dont sell a centre speaker yet though, we do sell single B50s though to use as a centre speaker if you don't mind that route, you'll need to contact us via email to buy this though (we are developing a system builder that should make this easier).
The S8 can be used for both home theatre and desktop/gaming use. It's an 8" sub so quite tight, not excessively boomy but it still goes all the way down to 23hz which makes it quite suitable for movies and measures up well against larger subs.
For desktop use I would highly recommend the AD18 if it's within budget. It's a great amp that has all the features most people would ever need in a desktop amp (bluetooth, headphone amp, multiple optical inputs, subwoofer output, USB dac) etc..

Being 8 inches, I assume I will be able to hear explosions but not feel them? I don't need my windows to tremble.

Hi @chiefbodge, B50 impedance mentioned at the back of the speakers in photos is 6ohms but that mentioned in specs is 8ohms. Which is it?
They are 8ohm. The sticker on the back in the photo's is a mistake with the prototype. Thanks for picking it up - we'll photoshop it out to avoid any confusion.

I bought the s6 sub along with the b44s and since then I have disconnected the sub as I feel like the speakers themselves do a really good job with the lows
I would only recommend the sub for movies/gaming and even then the B50s are very sufficient on their own.

Ok that's a cheap 8" sub! How does it compare with the likes of Audioengine s8 and Klipsch R-8SW?
I haven't heard either one but these are the differences I can see on paper:
-The Voll S8 is quite a bit larger than both (slightly wider / deeper, quite a bit higher)
-The Audioengine uses class A/B amplification vs the class D in the Voll/Klipsch. Some people swear by A/B but it has very high idle power usage, generates lots of heat and is generally inefficient and prone to issues.
-The Klipsch has a frequency range of 38Hz-120Hz +/-3dB which is not too low for an 8" sub. The Audioengine is better at 27hz but the Voll goes lower at 23hz (probably due to our bigger cabinet and higher excursion driver).

Does the Voll S8 have an auto on/off feature? Not a dealbreaker for me personally, but nice to have.
It does have an auto on/off. It's permanently enabled but has never caused issues after very extensive testing (some auto on/off features are terrible, switch off a low volumes and have an annoying pop). That said the benefits of this feature are quite limited with a class D subwoofer, even when the subwoofer is running but with no signal the power usage is minimal (under 2 watts).
When we started looking for a replacement to the S6 we reviewed a few class A/B amplifier boards and while we did find a very nice one the idle power usage was 40 watts and it didn't have auto off. Huge dealbreaker in my opinion but there are many subs being sold to this day with those kind of numbers.
Very tempted but I already have B44s and S6! Maybe can get B50s and make B44 my rear speakers?

It's unlikely to happen any time soon. The A44 never sold that well compared to the B44 so we can only conclude that it's not something our customers wanted.
We will be releasing a very cheap class D amplifier soon (for around $50) which could fill the gap somewhat.
What sort of power output can we expect from the new amp?
with the bundled power supply it will be 220w but the amp will be capable of up to 250w if you happen to have something suitable lying around. 2 * 20w will be very suitable for desktop use though.
Dammit just bought the JBL CSB5, but these are such a better looking speaker. Should I sell the JBL and get these? I like that a sub might not be necessary with these too.
OP have you tested these with a TPA3116 based amplifier?
How does the Voll S8 compare to the Emotiva BasX S8? They look quite similar.
Would 2 x Voll S8 subwoofers be close to a single SVS PB1000 in performance?
Not really. 2 x same subwoofer will just give you 3dB more SPL but no better frequency performance. The PB1000 is a 10" design with a lower frequency response than the 8" design of the S8.
Can you please clarify the return policy thingy? In case not satisfied we can return for full refund - do you cover return postage or is that customers expense?

We cover all shipping costs and issue a full refund. Usually we charge a $10 return cost though for this service, however if you mention that you are from ozbargain and buy in this current sale we'll waive the $10 return cost so you aren't out of pocket at all.
We don't have an upgrade option for B44s.
I currently have the B44 speakers and really like them, great value for money IMO. I just ordered the S8 Subwoofer, looking forward to it.
Received my B50's today, sound sooo much better than my B44 v2's. I use a Klipsch SW350 and could never get the B44's to blend with it properly, they always sounded like they were missing the low/mid punch to blend in with my sub. Regardless of where I set the SW350 crossover.
The B50's match perfectly. Listening without the sub they have a lot more depth to the sound and it sounds like the B50 woofer blends with the tweeter a lot better. The B44 v2 in comparison sounds really dominated by the tweeter.
