Playing this right now. Note that it's the master quest version. You get dins fire as a child.. Pretty sure that's new
I don't recall regarding Din's Fire but this has the regular and Master Quest versions of the game included.

Din's Fire is accessible as child even on the N64 versions. You get it from a Great Fairy so it's easy to miss and the first time you need it to advance is as adult entering Shadow Temple.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure in the original 64 version you get Din's Fire at hyrule castle as a kid after you obtain bombs in the Dondongo cavern.
Whilst I have also played/beaten Master Quest on the bonus disc released on GameCube.. the original version of the game was my childhood, and holds many great memories for me.
If only real life had a Temple of Time that could take us back there… sigh.
P.S. The spooky vibe of the Shadow Temple and Bottom of the well creeped the hell out of me.
