Instant deal for today, think this is probably the lowest it has been. Coupon will be generic.
I have the Elite and love it, the only thing I don't like about this one is the touch screen in the middle of the remote.

But great price if you are looking for one of these!

  • Can someone convince me why I need a $144 remote control? :P - I'm feeling a bit "spendy" today.

    • Because it's great esp. if you got a setip that needs more than 2 remote to turn on everything.

But it's better to get the version with the hub. Else you'll need to make sure you point at the screen until the full activity cycle ends.

I have this remote (albeit with the hub). It's a good remote, but it has its flaws.

      Pros:
      * Has activities (macros) to turn on devices and switch inputs based off what device combinations you're using
      * Buttons are "per activity" (i.e. use the same button to control a device in one activity, and a different device in another activity)
      * Has favourite channels for one click channel changing
      * On screen buttons overs greater versatility for uncommon buttons
      * Backlit keys and haptic feedback

      Cons:
      * Suffers from shocking lag between button presses
      * Unorthodox button placement
      * Rechargeable battery life has a lot to be desired

      • I have this with hub and concur the battery is short and non replaceable
I don’t have the lag I find it fairly ok

That said it’s well worth the money I spent 2x this.

  • Does this include the hub? Thanks

    • +1

No it doesn't. It's also not Alexa compatible.
Both these make it a deal breaker for me!

      • Likewise. Disappointing.

  • +1

    Don't waste your money.

I have one of these and they are nothing special.
They are a little buggy and lags on its UI.
As an activity, clustered electronics (E.g Project, HD box and Receiver) most of the times it does work but not woth $150.
I see these on Gumtree for $70 (that's where I bought mine from)

    Cheers

I am a huge fan of Harmony remotes but, IMO, the button placement on this one is awful. Having the play/pause/fwd/rew at the top makes one handed use, when controlling a PVR device, uncomfortable. Logitech lost the plot with this model - the older Harmony One and newer Harmony Elite make a lot more sense. I’d even take the 650 over it - but they’re just my thoughts.

      Agree.

For an extra $10 (using code PRIORITY10) I would go for the Companion with the Hub over the Ultimate One:

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Logitech-Harmony-Companion-Whole…

    • The button placement isn't perfect but to call it awful is a stretch IMHO. Suits some. Doesn't suit others.

I've owned mine for 3-4 years and button placement genuinely is awful. It's a shame because it actually is a pretty decent remote in almost every other way.

        • Likewise an owner for many years. I almost never use those buttons and when I do it's not an issue - for me at least. Really don't get the problem. I'd get the elite just for the home automation buttons but otherwise not really fussed.

Wait, what? what are you watching on your PVR one handed? username checks out ;)

Got the email 15 mins ago. Been looking at the harmony 650,but might go for this now

Hmm maybe not after reading above comments

    • harmony 650 is the way to go. Get it, set it up, enjoy. Just remember to point it at your devices for about 1 or 2 secs when you press any button…

  • This is the Ultimate One, not Ultimate. Difference being it doesn't include the hub, which is the main reason to buy one. Don't spend that much on this.

    • Thanks, have updated the post.

  • I love my harmony 900 best remote I've ever owned, would love to know how this unit (ultimate version also) compares to the 900. I dislike that this has no number pad like the 900 version

    • Number pad can be used on the touch screen, but if you were going to upgrade you would want one with a hub to make it worthwhile. The remote on its own wouldn't offer that much more (maybe a little more customisation on the touchscreen, adding icons for each TV channel etc)

  • Which of these can turn on devices like my aircond ?
    Any clues appreciated

    • This one will control virtually any IR compatible device - though it is primarily designed for multimedia devices. For stuff like A/C it will most like only offer very limited functionality (like power on/off).

You can check device compatibility here https://support.myharmony.com/en-us/compatibility

      • You can have full functionality of ANY IR remote. You can teach it any missing commands and map them to the touch screen or any unused buttons on the remote.

        • I can tell you first hand that's not true of my Daiken air conditioner.

        • Air con remotes send multiple IR signals per function/button - eg temp, fan speed, timer, heat or cool, etc. Most standard IR mapping remotes cannot properly control air conditioning units.

          • @bargainshooter: I can control my panasonic split with this remote. Don't bother using it for that anymore but i did get it working.

Realise I still have mine from the Dick Smith closing sales.

    • +1

Yeah i think i got it from there too.

  • People still use funky remotes 😆
