30th Birthday Party Game Ideas

Hi OB!

My friend is having a 30th birthday party for around 15-25 guests. Just wondering if you have any favourite party games for groups?

Open to board games, drinking games and video games, tame and not so tame games too.

But ideally one that most people can join in with lots of laughter.

Best board game for 30s is Balderdash. Even funnier when drinking.
    Spin the bottle.*

*Note: Gets awkward if Grandma wants to play.

    • Good old spin the bottle sounds good

  • Strip Twister.

It could be a combination of:

    • Hire a professional to conduct a murder mystery night
    • Have everyone send you a copy of a photo of them as a toddler. Put them on a board, guess who is who for a prize
    • Have a quiz, perhaps with teams or a quiz master
    • Have a mini olympics, with 3-5 individual games people can play solo (longest distance paper aeroplane, balls in a cup). Keep a scoreboard. Tally the scores for a winner.

Try to cater for the extroverts and introverts without giving either an advantage. Keep it light hearted.

    • love the toddler photo idea !!! I'm going to try and organise that

    • Friends did a mini-olympics type relay last year, lots of fun, gets pretty loud. Egg and spoon race, eat cheezels/donuts off a string etc.

  • Smashed Avo

if its at home, then u can hide 15-20 items / things that you use on daily basis at differtn places and give guests some time to find them. Dont tell them what these are - this is the funny part as they will end up collecting almost anything n evryting in your house.
    TIP: Hide your personal items.
Guest who finds the highest number of items at the end wins,
Did this for wify bday and was alot of fun (items like lipsticks, nail polish, mascara etc etc)

??? That's inviting people to go through all your stuff. Personally I'd not be too into this game.

    Celebrity head.

    Cards Against Humanity

Is there really much else when you're 30+?

    • Balderdash is good too.

  • "Friend"

  • Edward Fortyhands - I played this at my 30th and it was a great start to the night, plus got everyone from different friend groups socialising as you cant really do anything else when you don't have access to your hands.

mattresses all over the house.. a couple of empty bowls with all the female names in one and male names in the other,

    you get the idea

    • Sounds great. A follow up game next year will be "Guess Who? - Got Molly pregnant edition"

I did a kids party a while back with a series of "minute to win it " games - there are hundreds of them if you google
The adults got into it as well

    For example

    Jenga!

  • 15~25 guests? Definitely TAG!
Imagine playing Tag with this huge group of people.
Or, paint ball is a great idea as well, but this option need some organization and money.

Here's a mixture that I've seen been successful before.

Jackbox Party Pack. I'd recommend Pack 3. Up to 8 players. Phone app. Easily accessible for noobs.
One Night Ultimate Werewolf. Up to 10 players. Phone app. Easily accessible for noobs.
Two Rooms with a Boom. Pretty easy and fun.
Truth or shots. Truth or dare but the questions are set and booze involved.
Table tennis. Just grab some MDF from Bunnings, some paddles, make a net from anything cheap.
Cards against Humanity. Have to live under a rock not to have heard of this.
Champagne super soaker. Buy a heap of $3-4 nasty white wine or fizzy, bunch of cheap super soakers. Spray someone in their mouth and they're eliminated. Wreck havoc.

  • Some of the suggestions here are hilarious, you said 30 not 60 right?

  • You could always dunk the cosmic donut ;)
