    What's the weight capacity?

I'm a bigger bloke but might be ok for me + doggo.

    • +3

      250kg. It's on the site.

      • +17

Enough to carry 1x 250kg dog then. But what about Calvin.

  • +11

Now where to store in the 1 bedroom flat near the beach that I share with 3 other food delivery drivers …..so many bargains so little room ….

  • +4

    No internal compartment?
That's usually a good place to store your dry things like wallet, phone, and tea bag.

    • +2

You can always buy dry bag/s

    • +4

gotta have that last sip of tea before flipping on a kayak.

Interesting, I just did a review search for this model and discovered one of their other models which is a modular kayak which I had never heard of before. Bit off topic but worth a look https://www.amazon.com/SEAFLO-3-Piece-Modular-2-Person-SF-30…

Back on topic, stability is a big issue with kayaks so suggest checking out reviews before buying something that may end up being a major pain to paddle.

    • +6

That modular Kayak is awesome. Although I am not too sure of the long term stability of the joins. But it looks like fun.

My child's first comment on seeing it was "if you had two of them could you make a triple seater and a single Kayak?" Goodies style. Seems possible if not practical/sensible. But it would be fun to see a crazy long Kayak full of people.

    • that 3 piece is almost 4 thousand AUD…

      • I've seen them a few years ago - IMO rather impractical. What are you gonna do when you're done for the day - put the wet pieces (and muddy/sandy) in the back seat of your car?

        • +1

That's what boots are for. Generally after taking my kayak out of the water it is reasonably clean and I tend to leave it in the sun for a while to dry it off before strapping it to the roof racks. It would be easier to clean 3 parts in the water and carry it back up to the car without it even touching the ground again.

My kayak tandem is generally too heavy for me to get on top of our SUV myself without busting my body or risk dropping it onto the car, so the ability to split the kayak apart and make it a one person kayak would be useful when it's just me heading out for a paddle.

          • @Gravy: I can't see the 3 pieces fitting in a boot? One of the things I love about putting the yak on the roof racks is giving it and the entire car a spray either at the site if there's a tap or when I get home.

Agree tandems can be a PITA for 1. But if you're actually going out as a pair then two should lift it easy.

I often use a tandem on my own (actually a 3 seater - Nemo 2+1) - and yes, it's a pain to lift involving fulcrum-ing it on my head, etc. but I just can't see mucking around with 3 pieces being any more fun. If you're scared of scratching your yak maybe 3 pieces is better but personally the thing is meant to be chucked around and abused.

            • @afoveht: You cant put the seats down?

              • @Other: Fine - it'll fit inside the car - I never said it won't - just that it's still something wet and potentially dirty inside, or you have to spend time on site to clean and dry it. Not my cup of tea - I'd rather just get it on the roof and go home - but eh, whatever rocks anyone's yak. Obviously some people do like them - they've been sold for years now.

Anyone know some casual kayaking spots around Sydney? I bought an inflatable kayak a while back and never got around to using it because I have no idea what I'm doing.

    • north paramatta river, royal national park, chipping norton lake, pretty much anywhere with calm waters (i'm not sure if council disallow any or if there are any rules…

    • +1
    • I see people doing it at Lake Parramatta. Pretty nice spot, would be suuuuper casual.

    • Near Manly Aquarium there's a Kayak rental. On that thought, maybe look up where there are Kayak rentals for more suggestions.

    • Narrabeen! very calm waters. but remember safety first and wear a life jacket :)

  • -2

bought one seems cheap as you could on sell it easy for $250 sure it won’t be to bad for fun in summer

  • +6

Tandem Kayak - sounds like a good way to test a relationship.

    • +4

      “Pull your damn weight, SHARON!”

    • I can testify this is a true scenario. In the end it was easier if I paddled solo and she paddled solo when I wanted a break.

  • +1

    Sold out at Noarlunga SA

  • +1

Out of stock anywhere within dashing distance of Brisbane despite the website saying stock available almost everywhere. Head office says stock levels are recorded at CoB the day prior, so do make sure and call ahead if interested.

Feels like a bait and switch to get people signed up as members tbh. Seemed a good deal otherwise!

    • I picked one up at the box Hill store in Vic Another lady purchased one while I was there and there was 3 on hold too. Seems like they went pretty quick

  • damn…can't order online

  • +9

    me: I must have this
also me: I have never used a kayak in my life

    • +7

I was just thinking the same thing! I have a confused bargain boner.

  • Suggestions for paddles? Never been kayaking (except at a school camp 30 years ago).

  • It must be heavy to carry

    • 28kgs ain't too bad

      • It's a great weight for carrying, but what it means in reality is that the plastic is ridiculously thin. All of the Seaflo kayaks I checked out at Anaconda are like that (I checked the last time there was a decent deal on). If anyone intends to get one for kids to muck about with, it won't stand up to normal levels of use/abuse.

I've half a dozen kayaks (sit on top and sit in) and none of them are this light, even the single ones.

  • None left in act

  • +1

My local Anaconda was taking back orders when i was just in, store assistant said it could take 1-2 months but they would get it for the $99.

It's actually entertaining in the carpark watching peoole trying to put it up on the vehicle roof who've obviously never done it before LoL.

    • +1

Clever marketing to sell more roof racks…

      • Whatever you do, don't buy the soft style roof racks that Anaconda stocks. They are completely unsuitable for carrying a kayak. A proper rigid mount rack designed for your car is required.

    • Yeah probably not so fun following behind them on the highway.

  • Same thing here the Anaconda Joondalup (WA) Store is taking back orders with no promises.
Apparently, all 7 floor & store stock was gone within the 15 min.

    • What store? My local won't back order so if it's in QLD, let me know!

    • I was there around 3pm and they said they have like 80 backorder and that they will all be fulfilled

  • +2

This is seriously cheap. I bought their single seat product last Christmas for $199 and its a decent sit on top kayak. Does everything I need but is only suitable for rivers and lakes with no waves.

The $699 RRP however is a complete joke. For $600 you can buy a much better kayak with lots of compartments and mounting points at any kayak store.

    • +6

Thanks cluster, so these are not suitable for chasing waterfalls.Maybe I'll just stick to the rivers and the lakes that I'm used to.

      • +1

Hmmm, whatever floats your kayak, I guess.

It seems like you're going to have it your way or nothing at all, but I think you're moving too fast.

        • +1

While we're on the topic of health and safety, are we just going to ignore the fact that this kayak may give our precious some loving that his body can't handle, but all he can say is, "Baby, it's good to me"?

I mean, like, what does that even mean?!

  • Thanks op, called up as soon as they opened and put 2 on hold

    • One for each foot?

      • Hahaha got 4 kids, I should really have bought 3 but I got no room for 3 lol

  • +1

Girlfriend went into the Kawana store, they were sold out but told her they could do a rain-check for the same $99 price, and it'd be back in stock within a month.

    :)

    • I got three from there :D

      • +1

        Wow I wish I had 5 friends

  • +1

i back ordered at noarlunga (SA) got told be here within 2 weeks

  • Are these the modular ones or are they one piece construction?

    • They are One piece

  • I never understood who would want these, they are much harder to transport and a lot less fun than just having two normal kayaks.

    • +1

We are going to keep the at our shack, which is on a lake. So no need to transport them (well, not more that about 20 m) and we have little kids which would sit in the second seat.

      • You have a shack within 20m of a lake? That sounds awesome! Lol, wanna be friends?

    • Good for camping if you are taking a large load - load in front, paddler in rear.

  • Not a good experince through, the website not let me login , reset password email never came , went to banksia shop said the sold out but not doing back order. They told me i can get from Moore park so i call up moore park they said dont do it please call Lidcome then lidcome dont do it too.

Is just been lazy around or something else ? by saying we cant order it when you have lot stock for sale.

  • +2

Not sure why this is expired? It's valid until they sell out.
I bought 2 this morning from the Cambridge (Tas) store. They still had about 5 left.
They weren't allowing holds or buying over the phone.

    • because they removed it from their website so stock would be extremely limited

  • Just picked one up at the watergardens anaconda, they had a truck deliver another 30 or so apparently yesterday. Mine was reserved from before so it was easy, Best of luck ring the store.

    also once you're there,

  • +2

    The deal is still on.
Not sold out, not expired, deal is still available, stock is around you have to ring the stores to find out, some are happy to hold some aren't that's all.

  • +1

I have two of these waiting for me at the Bayswater VIC store. I've already picked one up from another store. Did anyone want them?

    • I'd love one but since I live in an apartment have nowhere to store it.
Nice of you to offer them to others.

  • Deal appears to be off. Price has gone up to $249.

  • Awesome. Thanks OP. Just picked up mine from the raincheck order .

  • Anyone do any mods to their kayak?

  • +1

Rainchecked 2 of these for $99 at Marsden Park NSW. PM me if you want them

  • Fyi. There is stock at Springvale VIC. There is one out front on display.

    • Interesting. Last Monday after getting a $4 Ikea breakfast I dropped into Anaconda to look for cheap clearance clothing and they had a sign up saying the Seaflo tandem was a discontinued item and couldn't be ordered.

  • Can anyone recommend a life jacket deal. Need to adult add two kids.

    • eBay

      • Australian standards compliance an issue? Do the maritime cops check for that?

  • Hey has anyone who ordered a pair of these got a solution for a car roof transport mount or holder?
