  • It wont work with Sony smart TV that are not android..

    • Some models are. I think it is only the cheap range that are not android.

  • I just bought one for $47 from Amazon on Sunday :(

check out microsofts version, it's incredible, perfect lounge keyboard/mouse, touch bad is a bit bigger, battery lasts almost forever

think they go for around $40.. well worth it

of course these might be great, fortunately i'll never try it, found perfection :P

    edit: https://umart.com.au/Microsoft-All-in-One-Media-Keyboard-USB…

usb non bluetooth version, 20m range no problem

    • Yep +1 for the Microsoft one compared to this.

      • I've got both and find the reception to be terrible on the Microsoft one.

        • also, MS means no unifying receiver for other mouse etc

54 bux, you could probably get them to price match the 45 - but its out of stock at umart…

        • looks like office works stocks it as well so could get them to price beat… still almost 10 bux more than this logitech one though…

@wisc: I've owned both. Microsoft's one is worth $10 more. The touchpad's size is just more workable.

            • @BradH13: damnit, too late for me now, I had a 32 dollar jb gift voucher, but probably would have put a bit more in for something better.

Thanks for this post. Got the MS keyboard for $41.80 at Officeworks.

          • @tof: you wont regret it.. it's microsofts iphone, the best thing they'll probably ever do

            great build quality too

            • @desync: Overpriced and under-performing compared to the competition?

          • @tof: Did the same today, plus used 5% off gift card → $39.71 :-)

Make sure you have updated your firmware on the Microsoft All-In-One as it has a vulnerability. The K400r model also needs to be updated but the plus version seems to be ok.

      • god damn!

        thanks

I have both - prefer the Logitech but both are fine.

  • I've found that having the mouse button on the top left corner is actually very useful. Ive had my K400 for over 5 years and changed the batteries only twice.

    • YES!!! microsoft has the same thing.. it's so good, volume rocker right below that is perfect too.. they are really well designed units

no doubt the logitech is just as good, these type of keyboards are just perfect for the HTPC

does the logitech have hand gestures? like using 2 fingers to scroll up/down like you would a phone

      • i rather have sleep button there like the original K400

      • Yes hand gestures work on this model and K400r. Someone else has mentioned on this page they had to install the logitech software but the gestures work for me without that installed.

  • I'm not after an "all in one", as I use a mouse for 95% of what I need to do in my Media PC. Still need a keyboard, obviously.
My problem is I just can't find a wireless pair that work from my lounge chair, which is in direct line of sight to the PC and no more than 3m away. I've had to resort to using a 5m long USB cable…which really pisses off the wife…so there's that.
I will admit to being a tight arse and have cheap Logitech ones.
Can anyone recommend a keyboard mouse combination that WILL work from say 5m?

    • any logitech mouse/keyboard work within 5 meter range

      • +1

        they both really should

i know the microsoft will work from +20m, range is great

pete you might have in interference problem, bluetooth will use a band close to wifi (g/a/n), or other wireless devices may be killing your signal, 5m shouldn't be a problem

also im pretty sure we are mostly tightasses here on ozbargain.. but in this case i'll happy pay $50 for one of these, well the ms one, no experience with logitechs, i only opted for ms because of the larger touch pad

edit: looking at the reviews the microsoft appears to have better range, someone with a k model logitech commented on jbhifi, check out the reviews for the ms all in one

      • +1

Not mine unfortunately. Well, they do work… eventually, but the response is atrocious.
I'll do as suggested as read some reviews and maybe fork out the big bucks. How much are kidneys going for these days? Surely I don't need two?

        • you should request a refund as the spec say it work for 10 meters and you only need it to be working for 5 meters

        • sounds faulty for sure

          • @desync: Just a quick update.
Went into JB's the other day and the very helpful salesman agreed "it should work" but also says he's heard that this can happen.
As there was 20% off all Microsoft accessories I decided to try their Wireless 850 Desktop set which after discount came to $35.
It worked a treat straight out of the box. I could even operate both mouse and keyboard (will no delay at all) from the kitchen some 10m away.
            Thanks again for your advice.

    • sound like interference between your computer and the receiver .
all you need to do it use a short extension cable , around 0.5M and place the unifying receiver away from your computer.

      • i just had a usb3 cable plugged into the port adjacent to my receiver and it completely destroyed the reception, thought it was the battery, nope… moved the cable to the back of the pc and reception restored.. goes to show it doesn't have to be a big metal object to kill the reception

  • +1

damnit none in my local area, so had to fork out the extra for shipping, which is a shame, as i had a gift card that i had to use which covered pretty much all of the original price… oh well, at least the delivery was less than the cost of the "gas I used to go to the store to buy the twine to tie up the bundles."

    • price match office works?

      • +1

        jb gift card

  • I have one of these. It's ok, functions alright out of the box but if you want to customize touchpad sensitivity, gestures etc. you need to install some Logitech software which then locks the media keys to Groove Music for some reason. I don't use that so I had to toss up between working media controls and a decent touchpad. Mine also had a literal loose screw clacking around inside until I opened it up to get it out. I wouldn't buy another one.

  • Great price for this kbd trackpad combo.

  • +2

bought this at officeworks in Lewisham total was $32.50 with the extra 5% off for the price match

  • Thanks OP. Just scored one!

I just got a K830 as I'm not a big fan of the range of my K400 (not Plus model). If anyone wants my K400, pay for postage and it's yours.

    • how much?

      • Will use Sendle so just need to box, measure and weigh when I get home. The online specs suggest it could fit in a satchel which is about $7

  • This is K400PLUS ,
I prefer the original K400 than the K400R or K400plus, cos the new one got the F1-F12 as function keys, and I rather have them as F1-F12.

  • Great keyboard,.

  • are these unifying? what happened to logitech unifying?

    • Yeah they are.

  • Thanks for posting this, missed the deal last week so this really helped out.
I was able to get it from Officeworks on Sunday using price match for $32.60, it's a great keyboard and really impressed with the quality.

I'm using it in my home theater, Highly recommended.
