Active Members: Audible Membership @ $8/Month for 3 Months

This has been the case before, but that deal expired.

If you are an active member of Audible if you select to cancel your membership, and say "too expensive", they will give you an option to continue for $8/month for 3 months.

  • What I do is get a bunch of accounts, get a trial and then ask to cancel to get another token. Download the app, open the accounts, use the two tokens to download ebooks and repeat. Bonus points when after deactivation, you sometimes get en email for another free trial and bam, free estate

This has been the case on Audible for years that they'll offer you something not to cancel e.g. free month, reduced price for a while, paused membership (keep your credits without paying) etc.

Still a deal - I didn’t know about this and am facing the cancellation question because I find it too expensive!

      Thanks OP!

      • Glad you can use it; I used it too a few months ago too, but their retention offers haven't changed in years. Maybe I'm wrong for negging, but I wouldn't consider offers from the retention team at a telco as "bargains" either, and I think this is the same thing.

  • Can u keep doing this after the discounted period?

  • This only works if you haven't used it within a certain period. Not sure how long that period is but it's not a repetitive deal.

  • That's good I was going to cancel.
Have 5 tokens racked up, were you saying you lose unspent tokens if you cancel?

    • +2

Their site says you lose the credits if you cancel, but you can suspend for 3 months once every 12 months and keep the credits. You may also get something else as described here if you try to cancel, but I think if you actually go through with cancelling you lose the credits.

    • Do use the credits before you actually cancel. Once you purchase the books using credits they are yours to keep even after cancellation

      • Their website says yes.
