Toyota Dealership Email List. Anyone Know How to Get It or Have It?

Hi all - I am helping my father purchase a new vehicle. He knows what he wants and is ready to buy but happy to go to any Toyota dealer in Victoria.

It was suggested sometime back by a friend that emailing them all with the details often gets a great result. So in attempting to do this it would appear that Toyota have designed their websites so you can't get the information about the dealers email addresses.

Short of going through every individual dealer site and lying about my father's post code to be able to do so has anyone perhaps been able to do this in the past and have the list or know how to get it?

Thanks

Sure, it's easy, I had a look at some other dealers out of interest and Toyota's was the most simplistic of the ones I looked at.

However here is how I came to that URL:

        1. Go to https://www.toyota.com.au/find-a-dealer in Google Chrome, you can do it in other Browsers but Chrome is the best for this
        2. Press F12 to open the Developer Tools, if F12 doesn't work, you can also do Ctrl + Shift + I or click on the 3 dots in top right - More Tools- Developer Tools
        3. Click on the Network tab
        4. On the Network tab click the button that says "XHR", its on the row just above the timeline (it says like All, XHR, JS, etc)
        5. Now click on one of the states
        6. This should bring up 1 result in the timeline that is like NSW?dealeroptin=false, click on this
        7. On the right - the Response tab will show the raw JSON data like if you went to the page in my other comment

From there you can see the complete URL and other info on the Headers tab or you can right click on the result in the timeline and click "Open in a new tab".

        Hope that helps.

@Aerith-Waifu: Is Mitsubishi the same if I want to get the emails?

@Aerith-Waifu: Why don't you check and let us know?

@Aerith-Waifu: Had a quick look, it's a bit different and didn't look like email was provided.

This isn't a one size fits all approach.

Comes down to how they made the website and how it pulls the data as well as what data it pulls.

Sometimes it's entirely backend, other times you can work it out other ways and sometimes it's just not possible.

Toyota was as basic as it comes.

        • Nice one - well done.

        • Had a play around with this for Haval however they didn't pull email addresses back. Either way, I learnt something new today, thanks heaps :)

    • Wow, good effort mate. What if I want another car brand. should I just replace Toyota with the name of another car brand?

      • The same method can be used for other car manufacturers, but the XHR may have a different structure and/or may not contain the email address at all.

For example, Honda's Find-A-Deal link is here (excluding filter params). Within an object for each dealership, under the key Locations, are location objects containing an email for either sales, service, or parts.

    • That's awesome. Is there a way to extract car listings data from carsales or similar websites?

  • Try giving this mob a go - it worked for me..
