The new Raspberry Pi 4 Model B dropped today. It is a significant upgrade from the previous 3+. The 4GB RAM model is the best value for money. They all come with dual micro HDMI ports, Gigabit LAN, b/g/n/ac WiFi, 2 USB 3 ports and 2 USB 2 ports.

$94.95 is the regular price but at this price the RPi 4 is great value. The best place to pick up one of the new PRi's is from Little Bird Electronics' Pi Australia store.

Product ships in end of August.

      • Have this with CEC turned on on 2 TVs. Best $72 I've spent (on a media player at least).

This is a new product announcement, not a bargain

Bit late to the party.. But why aren't people buying directly from Element14? Free shipping on orders over $60…..

    • When I have to choose business or personal I select personal and they say I can only buy one from an authorized reseller.

      • Element 14 only sell to businesses.

      • Pick business and continue on.. Last time I ordered as a business they didn't ask for ABN or anything else.

Element 14 didn't have stock and they weren't taking preorders when I posted this.

Looking now and the back order status states: “More stock available week commencing 2/09/19”

  • Which PSU are you all getting?
I'm going to stick with my 2.5A PI3 PSU for now and shred some microSD cards…

I too am interested where to buy "dumb" 5V 3A+ USB power supplies with an AU plug with either a USB-C flying lead or a USB-C/USB-A port.

      • ebay ….it’s where i got mine when charger wouldn’t drive 3b+, just need to make sure it’s 5.1v and not just a charger which have voltage drops under load.

        • Do you have an example search/item?

        • What’s the difference between 5v and 5.1v? I have a DJI Spark charger which is 5v/3a, will this not do the trick based on the required specs? Any help is appreciated!

    • I've read the best solution is to power it from the GPIO pins rather than the USB port so I'll look into something that can do that well.

    • I’d been using TP-Link PoE splitter that pulls the 5v 2 amp out of a PoE switch, sadly its only 2 amp so will have to look for something that “hopefully” can get 3 amps from a PoE port….

Hit upon this Stack Exchange: Choosing a Pi 4 Power Supply and I think I’ll go the PoE route, above my PoE power source is coming from a UniFi US8-60W 8 port 60 watt PoE switch, each port can do 15.4 watts out, so at 5 volts theoretically i can get 3 amps from the port and without USB peripherals the Pi 4 spec states it only needs ~2.5 amps PoE looks to be the way I’ll go…

  • Core is shipping theirs out NOW

    • Little bird shipped orders on Thursday.

  • Did anyone's order get shipped yet? Mine is in a backlog state.
Kind of annoying considering we're a week into the release of the product and it's available elsewhere.

  • You can also order these from rs components direct for $75.84 including postage for the 4gb version. Back order at the mment but scheduled for the 18th

    • Make that 83.42 with GST

    • Ok forget RS. Not shipping until December for the 4gb version.
