15% Storewide EarphoneSolutions

100
DADGRAD

So with the Aussie dollar so high, and with 15% off storewide at EarphoneSolutions. I thought I'd post this coupon up.
Real deal IMO is the Westone 3 for US$296.65 delivered standard shipping. (approx AU$282.53 taken at US$1.05/AUD). Or US$326.65 FedEx'ed (highly recommend this option so you get it FAST) (AU$311.10)

Also aim for a shopping cart of US$180 or more so you can qualify for free standard shipping (or else it's US$15). But I suggest to get FedEx regardless, especially if you're aiming for the good stuff like UM3s, W3s, W4s, 535s.

  • i recently got the westone 3s from here. amazing earphones!

  • How long it takes to get here?
Edit: how is the bass, earphone solutions list w3 as the best earphone for hiphop somehow, but I doubt as most ppl said w3 produce very balanced sound. I think tf10 might perform better for hiphops. Plz let me know what u think

  • Comparing the prices to http://headphones.com.au/

Some of the headphones they have are nearly the same price to buy here in Australia even after applying the 15% discount so once you add on the currency conversion fee the price would be very similar.

    • They dnt sell westones, but good price for se535

      • That's a great price for the SE535 - last time I checked it was 650!

However, what I don't like is the detachable cables. I bought a SE535 last year and the connection from the cable to the headphones were faulty and would cut in and out. I thus returned it and got the SE530 instead. They both sounded more or less the same.

        • Not a fan of classical music, so 535 is out of my consideration. Wanna get a tf10 but it's out of stock. Damn

        • Fair enough. I think, from the reviews that I've read, that they both are generally considered good all rounders.

        • I thought TF10's were EOL?

        • I dnt think so, 535 is like ipc/d50, produces plain sound. Highs mids bass are very balanced. Great if you are classical music lover but not worth if u are into pop, rock hiphop etc

        • SE535s and UM3Xs are good alrounders because of the flat response. Hence why most people would say they're bad for pop, rock, hiphop, etc, cause the bass isn't predominant.

        • Trance and Dance, have you been feeding us false information?!?!? nah, im happy with my pair of TF10s, good for the money

        • No I really did think the TF10's went EOL…
Explained the massive price drop to around US$200 from the US$350 or so.
And I've listened to TF10's before and compared to my UM3X, I felt the UM3X had better mids, bass were roughly the same but felt the UM3s gave it the edge, didn't sound quite as muddled (could be because the TF10's were unamped, supposedly the UM3X are easier to drive than the TF10s).
I prefer the soundstage of the UM3X's, they sound closer and tighter than the TF10s. While the TF10s seem a little washy (but that's personal preference, nothing to do with SQ)

        • @trance n dance, u might wanna try upgrade the cable for tf10, it improves a lot. And may i ask what music player u using, don't think tf10 is hard to drive without a amp.
Not sure if tf10 went EOL, but it's cheap coz it's in amazon edition packaging. You would still expect to pay around 350 to 400 for the UE packing. I know it's stupid lol
Yea can't rly say which one sounds better as it depends on ur personal preferences.
Btw have u tried ie8. Any opinions?

        • Its great to have the latest and greatest, but they're always overpriced initially, so i went with the possibly EOL TF10s on special. They sounded okay at first, but once i connected a cheap fiio e5 it sort of just opened up everything. I use a PSP as my player, so that's probably not the best, but i do run some custom software that plays FLACs and has an EQ that surprisingly works - all i did was boost the low end bass a bit as it can be lost through background noise. Overall, I'm quite happy about everything, just need new comply tips.

Haven't tried other expensive earphones, but the um3x are almost double in price.

        • @diamondtouch1 where did u get ur tf10? eBay?

        • nah, logitech shop had their australia day sales, amid all the controversy, i managed to get one of i think 200 triplefis they had. they sold for about $209 the week before, but i missed it.

    • Mmmm…
Interesting, I guess Headphonic have lifted their game. They used to have higher prices compared to the US, and were quick on the price rise but slow on the drop when currency fluctuated.
But yeah this is good if you're looking for some Westones.

      • Nah, they're still very expensive. Hopefully competition from Jaben will make it better.

  • I know with Shures the company that handles the warranties in Australia will not honour the warranty for overseas purchases so you'll have to post them overseas if they break. That's why I got mine from Headphonic.

    • Actually, if you buy from a authorized reseller, the reps in Australia will honor it. I've had my broken iems replaced in Australia, bought in HK.

  • Just purchased the Westone 4 for $411.65. I am really looking forward to seeing them within a week or so.
