  • I have the winix 5500 and 9500 purifiers. Good machines. Do you stock filters for them as well?

    • Hi, yes we sell the 5500 & 9500 filters. Try the EOFY19WINIX discount code on the filters as I think it works for those.

  • How do these compare to the xiaomi ones

    • Hi,

      • 2 yr Australian warranty
      • Higher Airflow Rate (Winix Zero+ Pro vs Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier Pro)
      • Larger & Better quality filters - from a quick search online Xiaomi seem to promote all the wiFi/app features but not much detailed info about their filters so i could confidently assume they are not that great..
Someone else may have more info on that maybe??
      • Winix have the Plasmawave function
      • They are also a well known and respected South Korean Brand

        Thanks Rep,

Is there anything such as a 2 in 1 unit that is a purifier AND dehumidifier?

And which model would you suggest for an average sized master bedroom?

        • +1

Not too sure if there are any purifiers with de-humidification here in Australia. The combo's that I've seen are purifiers with (humidification) functions rather than de-humidification. Other OzBargain members may know of some.
Most dehumidifiers will have a filter or two but obviously not as effective filtration as a dedicated air purifier.
Alternatively, if there isn't a huge amount of moisture or condensate on windows etc. you could look at using moisture absorber packs with your air purifier. You can buy the moisture absorbers in most hardware stores.

Talking just about Air Purifiers for bedrooms, any one of the 4 Winix models would do the job. If you have pets the new Zero+ Pro 5 stage would be best option as it has a dedicated pet filter

If you are worried about fumes, formaldehydes, voc's etc the New winix+ pro 5 stage or the AUS-9500 5 stage would be a good choice

If its just mainly dust, pollens and particle sized allergens you could opt for the Winix Zero 4 stage or the AUS-5500

The InovaAir E8 is also a good bedroom option for particles, allergens, voc's, formaldehyde etc (Use discount code EOFY19INOVA to see if you can get it a bit cheaper)

Just another point on the Xiaomi products -

Xiaomi use the term CADR in their marketing but i'm pretty sure they wouldn't actually be able to produce an official CADR datasheet for testing against specific particulates because CADR is a standardised test set out by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM)

Their so called CADR is just the standard Airflow rate m3/h which doesn't, account for pollutant types, sizes, testing chamber size or airflow bypass percentage around their filters

          Hope this helps

The Winix models use an ion generator function called plasmawave. Basically it generates both positive and negative ions to destroy bacteria and allergens (creates oxidised radixals by splitting airborne water molecules). Most high end purifiers use ion generation to help clean the air (sharp call theirs plasmacluster). These plasma generators require humidity in the air to work - they actually reduce humidity to a small extent. Sharp even combined an air purifier with a humidifier function in some of their models. So it's highly unlikely that you will find an air purifier with a dehumidifier function on the market - I think the two functions would compete if deployed in the same unit.

Winix zero 4 stage $449.99 at costco auburn

    • That's a good price for the Zero 4 stage. Is that an advertised online price and if so do you have a link? Thanks

      • +1

In store only a pic sorry. Havent bought one yet.. wifey thinks we should but our breathing is fine :/

        • +1

Ok no worries, that's definitely a good price. If you do go and buy one just make sure it is an Australian model etc. Im pretty sure Costco are authorised sellers for Winix but worth checking just in case.

  • I’m interested in the Winix Zero+ Pro, but the code doesn’t work that particular purifier. Are you able to offer an additional discount?

    • Hi,

If the code doesen't work for a particular product, that means it is already being offered at our best price. Im pretty confident that we have one of the lowest sale prices for that model at the moment. Sorry we couldn't offer a lower price on that one for you.
Please also keep in mind that this is a new model (been out on the Australian market for only a few months) so I would imagine everyone will probably return to normal pricing after the EOFY sales have ended.
