Officeworks (Southport/Gold Coast) have on display the Canon CLI-8 Photo Value Pack with the 4 colours (Black, 'C'Blue, 'M'Pink & Yellow) + 250 6"x4" photo paper for $74.
That is about $25 cheaper than what I used to pay. Needless to say I picked up 3.
I have one on my Epson TX800FW and have had it for over a year or 2 now and my printer is having automatic head cleaning issues or whatever it was but I just press cancel and just keeps printing.
It could just be the printer, but if it works out fine then yes they are value for money although I've heard of some stories from people using it like it leaking etc.
I cant tempt you for some aftermarket carts for say, $13?

Not saying it's a bad suggestion, but you do get 250 sheets of photo paper (the 'normal' 6 x 4 photo size) with this one. I'm sure you can get that seperatly for less but for genuine ink with genuine paper it's a pretty good deal :)

An even better deal for those outside QLD who can receive Staples free delivery: use the $20 off coupons (SAVE20, GAME20, OFF20) etc and bump the purchase total to just a little over $55 for the free shipping.
In essence, the CLI8 value pack costs around $50 without the delivery, but buying another $5.10+ worth of stuff is better than having to pay $5.50 shipping! :p

haha, i bought this ink set using the staples coupon. while everyone was clamouring for the silly 4G usb i got this which was much better value
some reported those $20 codes don't work anymore, although there is one for $80+ orders
I find those continuous ink systems are far better value, I paid 120$ 4 years ago and its still going.
