    I got a Xioami one not long ago, after having a normal baby monitor for the first child. This is heaps better, the image is high quality and it is heaps easier to have it go over the wifi. It has all the things a regular baby monitor has. Including the one that @bogak linked above.

    Another cool aspect is that the camera uses a micro USB cable, so I can whack it on the powerbank if the kid is sleeping in another room.

    The bonus is that when the baby is done with it, you can use it as a regular security camera, or in my case, watch my dog.

      yep, this looks great apart from the fact that it uses a phone app to view the baby. I think it would be more handy to have its own screen so i dont need to switch between apps when i want to view the baby.

        I have it set to send a notification if there is movement or noise. At night, I have an old phone on a mount with the image going, which I could theoretically use if I wanted to.

        I don't like having the video constantly going, not because I don't want to ensure they're fine (notifications for that), but you don't have that constant periphery thought about them using up the constant sanity that you are regaining when your baby is asleep. That might just be me though.

        I actually have both and because the baby monitors 2" screen is crap you cant really tell when they are doing, but it does have noise sensor and lights up and passes through crying baby. When im chilling on the couch at night i prefer having the tablet open on the coffee table and i can glance over and see if he has woken etc. Im looking for a better camera because my dafang locks up every hour or so and i think he is sleeping so softly until i hear the monitor screaming at me.

      Yep i have that too, but it's a lot easier with a standalone baby monitor as you can just carry the screen around wherever you go and if they make it sound it turns the screen on automatically. I use the Xiaomi one just as a normal IP Camera now. Both are great, just depends what you want/prefer.

  I got the Jooaan 1080p baby monitor.
  It's quite unreliable, and consistently drops out.
  BUT it's "reliable" enough that you'll get a glimpse of what the kid is crying about.
  For $40… you get what you pay for.
