  • Are there any package deals that use the coupon and this computer, i.e. with Monitor + KB/M?

This is a newer model than the Dell ones posted before, it uses DDR4 instead of DDR3.

    • Great value then. I brought a i5. 4575 DDR3 model last year for around this Price. Although it blew up after 6 months, a second hand mb fixed it up to its former glory.

  • Does anyone here have any experience turning these into Hackintosh?

Just bought one. Looking to turning it into a Hackintosh too.

Cool, let me know how that goes. Ive had a Optiplex 9020 sitting in the garage that I havent had any luck with yet turning into a Hackintosh, hoping the HP is a better experience

I just missed out on this deal, but will grab one next time it comes around

        • Are you selling your 9020?

Hey mate. After multiple attempts, building the hackintosh wasn't too bad. I'm glad it works now.

          • @decklon: Hey, how is the Hackintosh going? You happy with it and installation not too painful?

  • Can I buy a graphics card, install it, and turn this into a decent gaming PC?

    • I don’t think the power supplier can provide enough power.

    • most likely yes, either a 1050, 1050ti or a 1650 (if you can wait) must be low profile, as long as they are at least 200 watts power supplies (250 recommended), the cards draw 75 watts, so its tight, but should be OK. (i think the HP power supplies go up to 320) if its a G1 it will have 320 at least

the 1050ti is reasonable, the 1650 should actually be quite good…

  • interestingly the old dells 9020, even the 9010 even though 3rd/4th generation, if you can get the i7 version, (you can usually get these for about 250) are faster than the later generation i5s

chuck in a 1050ti and you got yourself a pretty good rig.

    240 bux.

obviously this one can be upgraded way more than the older dells though…(and if it has the same power supply as the G1 - can handle more components as well)
