Been on my wishlist for like 38 years, never been this cheap

    Awesome game.

    • +2

Play on a 30" 4K screen or larger and its a game-all-night session, great stuff
      And the music OMG

Normally Android all the way for me, but I think it’s time to sell my Galaxy s10+ and get an Apple iPhone so I can get the extra $1 discount…

        • +1

I like it on the Switch. Feels closer to a snes controller

        • the Android version must have got better controls? I can't imagine how comfy/tiresome it would be pulling crops, walking around, digging, busting up rocks in the mines etc .. its quite a bit of work using the mouse on PC.

This looks exactly like Harvest Moon. Is there not a copyright on these IP…

    • +5

It's as similar as CoD on mobile is to CSGO,or Dota 2 with league of legends, hon, or many other moba games

    • +18

I don't think you can copyright a genre.

Also, this game was made by one person that couldn't find a job after graduating from computer science and decided to make this game to improve his skills.

So he decided to make a game with the intend "to address the problems I had with Harvest Moon".

Really good game and have spent over 50 hours on the switch version.

You can trademark the look and feel of something though.

      • +1

I love this game as well, I checked my steam log, thinking i had around 100 hours or so logged……. 291 hours…
I bought it on Android as soon at it was released, the only issue I have is that I can't do the fishing on the phone, it's just too clunky for me

    • -7

Isn't it made by the same devs?

      • +9

Nope. Stardew valley was made by one person Eric Barone aka ConcernedApe

      • +4

No, the guy made it himself over 3 to 5 years (don't recall). You can really feel it's a game that's been handcrafted and made with a lot of care!

      • Holy moly, this question is disliked…

  • +5

    Highly recommended
    full of fun
    must buy

  • +5

Bought it for full price and have already finished it twice before on my laptop. Just to support the developer <3

  • +4

Thanks mate, been looking for something good to use my survey credits on!

    • +17

So, do you own or rent…?

  • +14

SALE ON SWITCH PLEASE. IVE BEEN WAITING YEARS.

    Thanks. Yes I’m shouting

    • +7

Just buy it at full price…

I've put way more hours into it than games that cost 3-4 times as much.

    • +1

I've waited so long, now I'm just going to wait for a physical release, or pick up the Japanese version

      • Do you know if the iOS version supports Japanese? It doesn’t say it does, even on the Japanese App Store for some reason, although I know there is a Japanese version

        • No idea.. I'm trying to avoid buying it on any other platforms (including Steam), just so I don't play it twice or have to start my progress over

    • +1

I held off at first because I was waiting for it to go on sale too. Eventually I caved and paid full price. Definitely no regrets. I've played for about 200 hours and I still play it every other day. I think it's great on Switch or mobile because it's one of those games where you can pick up and play casually.

  • Great game, played on ps4 and sunk tonnes of hours in. Personally I think it's better than Harvest Moon, which I also love. Tempted to grab it on android just to kill time on flights.

  • +2

I remember spent 200+ hours on GBA for Harvest Moon…

    • Same, Friends of mineral town though, and theres a remake of it coming to the switch!

  • +2

Can we play Coop on iOS version?

  • +5

How do you get into these types of games? I found it uninteresting and boring but maybe my mindset is wrong.

    • I had the same issue with Animal Crossing. Just begging for something to kill after the first three hours.

      • Harvest Moon was fun, but leaves you feeling a bit hollow.
Animal crossing seems great, until you realise it's a life simulator and you have no purpose or objectives so you may as well kill yourself instead of just grinding the same routine every single day, hoping for weekends which, when they come, you feel to drained from the previous week to do anything so you spend 2 days recovering only to realize you need to do the same thing again all over this week just so you can pay rent and bills so that you can maintain this lifestyle…

In conclusion, harvest Moon and likely this game is about success, and animal crossing is about catching fish until you buy another game

    • +1

I guess you are not the target audience for it. I enjoyed Stardew Valley on my switch because there were mini objectives such as growing certain crops, catching certain fish or building certain structures.

I like the idea of owning a farm and get away from technology (why ironically playing on a switch). Farming life seems fun rasing chickens, cows goats and earning money from selling their produce. This is something I would never do in real life because it's hardwork and I wouldn't like to be with actual farm animals.

I like the relaxing music, I like progression where if I take care of my farm animals and crops, I get a good yield and more money for the next season to get more animals and expand my farm.

  • +1

Can you play multiplayer on this?

    • no multiplayer on Android

  • How good is it on phone compared to the switch? I have my phone with me when I need to kill some time a lot more often than my switch.

  • +1

No in app purchases?? What is this blasphemy??

  • +1

Would this be best on phone, iPad or switch?

  • Looks like there are wonky control issues - anyone else found that? I used up all my google rewards on neutron player already lol

  • I liked the Stardew Valley mods on PC, does it allow mods on phone?

  • Lol app crashed within the first 5 minutes on Galaxy S7.

  • If there is no multiplayer, why does it need full network access?
