Been that long I barely remember what a hot rod is, is that one of those little like shish kebob kind of dealies? I don't know, I'll go hit Google.
Either way, I'm just here to be the friendly neighbourhood guy who reminds you to use the chips and drink receipt. And that they don't ever actually check them (not just from experience, but from friends, and my sister, who works in a KFC who've said as much) so just write any ol' five digits down on it.
That’s exactly what I’ve been doing for years also. Only had a problem when I was living in Noosa and me and 5-6 of us used to get 2 x 9 for $9.95 each on Tuesdays and all used fake ones around the same time to get a free large chips and 600ml and it must have flagged somewhere because the manager started checking them only on Tuesdays but never any other night.
There was a long period of time where I just put any 5 digit number.
One day, some guy actually called me out, and I had to go onto the site and do the survey and come back lol.
Sometimes its a positive. Because if I was going to give negative feedback, then they should be happy that I faked the code and did not do the actual survey.
How do people find out about this before they send the push notification? Are they going into the KFC app at 12:01 every morning? Good deal though.

Can you swap the dinner roll out for coleslaw?
Doesn’t let you when you try in the app ☹️ Usually these $5 meals have little flexibility.
A single dinner roll is not equivalent to a coleslaw (small or large).
If you look in the receipt, its like 50c or 90c for a dinner roll.
I think a large side (large chips, large drink, large coleslaw etc, are equivalent to 6 dinner rolls).
Does Aldi, Coles or Woolworths have an equivalent for just the hot rods or is KFC's one really the only one.
They seem similar to basic kebab shop skewers but those are usually like $3 a pop so 2 for $2.95 is actually better.
I saw this shows in the app at all times, is there anything stopping you from ordering this snack after 4pm through the app? Has anyone tried?
Yep, only though app after 4pm.
I use Avgas in mine.
It costs a lot more than $4.95 though.
