    • Is it good?

      • +6

Yeah they are good. Picked one up last time, wearing it now. Nice and warm.

        • +1

          How was the sizing?

          • +3

@ash2000: I usually wear XXXL stuff, the XXL fits comfortably.

      • -1

        Yes.

    • I love a good poly/cotton blend!

  • +1

Awesome! Talk about luck. Spotted 6 mins after posting. I bought one last time. Incredible bargain. Superb fit, comfort, quality and weight for AU. Now I have a second one in the other colour.

    • +1

      How's the sizing like?

      • Accurate loose comfort fit.

        • Thanks, I generally wear standard XXL, should I get XL in this case?

  • +2

    Thanks Op. Just bought 2.

  • Lol, medium is more expensive

    • Large is most ($86 for Charcoal) :(

  • +1

Thanks OP, acted on temptation and bought.

  • Haha…me too.

  • Don't forget the cashback

    • 12% with shopback (for clothing).

  • $20 shipping?!

Stop whining and join prime if you don't want to pay shipping. A Prime sub pays for itself very quickly, with a host of additional benefits.

I'm as sceptical as they come and cancx my eBay Plus trial before it rolled over, but Prime is worth its annual sub rate. Best online shipping deal in the online world.

          • @odal: yeah its great, also you can use prime video worldwide if you have a VPN.

            • @Cletus vandamme: What do you use to view. Prime app on TV, Firestick (ver?), Android box e.g. Xiaomi, with app?

Current viewing Prime on a 9.7" tablet or 27" PC screen here. Would like to get it onto the big screen. All our other devices support Netflix, Fetch, Stan etc, but our Samsung WSs are is 2012s and don't support the Prime app. Even at $59 on promo we won't buy the supersed Firestick Basic dumped in AU after being obsoleted everywhere else worldwide. Expect the current US/EU ver to be available through Amazon AU here within the next 12 months, so waiting for it.

We have VPN. My understanding though is that the login works on association of your Amazon Prime account membership. If AU based account Prime member, it geoblocks US or UK Prime vid access regardless VPN routed address?

              • +1

@odal: The prime video app got Chromecast support literally 2 days ago.

I usually use my Xbox to watch prime on the tv though.

              • +1

@odal: I watch on my PC. Not sure about the geo blocking as I did have a us Amazon account beforehand that worked with the au site. But using Nord vpn and switching to the site im on eg if I go to UK Amazon just use a UK node, it works. Makes prime video so much better.

                • @Cletus vandamme: Thanks Cletus. Handy to know. We watch UK and EU material and I use that method vide VPN for watching or downloading from BBCplayer on the PC. For a while last year, the beeb took to block blocking all addresses detected as originating from a VPN, but they must have changed that or the current London based node or provider server I'm using they haven't registered as a VPN yet as I can access them again now. I changed VPN provider about 6 months ago. Prior to that we were with Nord for about three years.

Even though I was VPN logged into a US address, I got a -paraphrased, 'not permitted from AU' geoblock when I tried to access US Prime vid logging in with our AU Amazon Prime account which is linked to an AU res address.

In any case, our Prime vid access issue problem the subject of my earlier question resolved. 24 hour Prime Day promo for Prime members today, Amazon.au has just dropped the price of the Basic Edition Firestick to AUD$49, so I bit the bullet and pressed the buy button.

We have multiple legacy V1 & V2 WDTVLives throughout the house which have given service for many years, and although long since abandonware, they still work fine for Netflix, YouTube, Spotify, Stan (which we don't use) and catchup FTA. Their menuing is much friendlier to selecting 'backed up'.mp4/.mkv, than the Fetch Mini bundled into our NBN deal whose interface is clearly designed with the intention to deter that and steer you to buying their usurious price pitched Movie & TV Stores.

          • @odal: Who's whining? I was just stating the obvious.

            • @magic8ballgag: If it's "the obvious", stating it is definitively superfluous, so why state it at all unless incited to do so by begrudgement as an act of expressed dissatisfaction of the fact?

              That's what is obvious.

              • -1

@odal: Commenting about shipping being free with Amazon Prime is stating the obvious, as it's in the title/description, so I was just joining in on the fun.

That's a nicely structured sentence by the way, I was doubting your intelligence until you started using all of those big words in that manner.

                • -3

@magic8ballgag: That you would consider the ability to construct a sentence which states precisely what one wants to say with erudition outside your apparent comfort zone of banal cliches or preferred four letter expletives as using "big words" reflects more about you and the dumbing down of society today than it does of me "stating the obvious".

                  • -1

@odal: Oh my, I really hope for your sake that you don't talk like that in real life, and that it's nothing more than an internet persona.

          • @odal: Thanks, reminded me I was not getting value out of eBay Plus so canceled it just now, It renewed in 9 days :)

            • @covert: Good. Yes, our evaluation concluded its benefits weren't sufficiently worthwhile to justify paying for it. Many eBay traders I use offer free return shipping regardless, and of those who don't, few are in eBay Plus program to be covered by it although hopefully Paypal's returns program has that covered. I seldom return anything unless its damaged or not as described in which case either the reputable traders or eBay have you covered anyway. I suspect eBay are having a rather hard sell of Plus, as they've just raised the free trial time to 4 months!

Similarly our $.99c Spotify trial. Spotify is fantastic when I want to use it, but I just don't use it frequently enough to justify its monthly premium.

  • Go one size lower?

    • +1

It says relaxed fit. So I guess if you want a more snug fit go smaller.

      • This.

Nominal sizing is accurate real world man sizing, style of fit is a loose comfort fit.

  • +2

Deal has expired for any size other than XXL, comes up as $40-80 for the other sizes

    • Same happened last time. Exceptional deal and was hit hard. Had to act quickly as the OP said. Sorry for those of you who missed out this time. Perhaps on flash promo again before the end of winter? It's a timeless garment in a style which won't date, so good if it only sees the cupboard until next winter.

  • if you join Prime for amazon.com does that also cover amazon.com.au?

    • +4

No, I'm pretty sure they are seperate.

  • +3

I joined Prime au. I get free delivery on au, global and US eligible for Prime nominated products. Expedited delivery in AU, and currently on US.

When Amazon AU first kicked off, it was a joke. Now it's not, and I'm sure Aussie etailers and retailers are no longer laughing either.

Amazon set the current standard in AU for super fast delivery, packaging security and quality, relibility and consistency. I do a lot of mail order..don't live in a capital city, and even I am utterly gobsmacked at how consistently good their dispatch and delivery currently is.

    • Im in Perth and most of the time i get what i orderd next day! crazy how quick they are.

  • +2

Worth getting for $25 but dont see it being worth $50+.

    • Worth every cent of AUD$59 annually to us. Less tha $5/month for no min buy free + expedited shipping with other benefits, and it includes a Prime vid sub. Netflix sub alone costs $14/month or more! As soon as we have a Firestick, we'll probably dump Netflix use included Prime and put the Netflux saving into an HBO sub.

      • Im not talking about Prime… Prime is well worth the cost!

        • Original statement was ambiguious. Isn't now.

Re the hoodie's worth. "Worth" is subjective.

AFAIC the quality of this hoodie is a super bargain at $24 any way you look at it. With Skechers branding for those to whom that kind of thing matters,$50 would actually be cheap in any Mall store, so IDK where you're coming from. A generic junk quality rubbish fit hoodie is $25 or more in Target, K-Mart, Big-W, Dimmys, Lowes etc, and doesn't inc shipping. $24 is hardly more than the price of a better tha junk quality discounted summer weight t-shirt from a Rivers outlet.

I usually buy genuine Fox hoodies for their quality and fit, and they don't come cheap even remaindered from Wiggle or CRC. I feel like I'm almost 'stealing' these at $24.

      • As soon as we have a Firestick,

Technically you don't need a firestick anymore, as prime video now supports chromecasting.

But agree, $59 is a no brainier. It's twice that price in the USA. I don't suspect it will stay at $59 forever.

        • Technically, not yet owning any dedicated Chromecast hardware or TMK Chromecasting compatible device, until we do, "technically" we do. As to whether Prime operates smoothly and simply via the Chrome app will be a question the answer to which is yet to be determined. I'll have a look today to see if just released Chromecast support (someone just advised me it was released literally about two days ago) for Prime will work to cast from my Android tablet to a Fetch Mini.

IDK what happened with comprehension, but the AU Firestick is AUD$69, not $59 unless on promo, and version Amazon AU are selling is the superseded, buggy, slow feature encumbered original Basic version according to reports from AU owners of both devices. Perhaps why it's half the price (? as I haven't checked international pricing) of the current new version available for purchase in the US, UK and EU? Not buying the old buggy slow model is the "no brainier" (sic) AFAWC.

OTOH, Xiaomi's latest Mi box with Chromecast support might be a workable solution now, although it's overdue for another new version anytime soon in accord with Xiaomi's empirical track record, so whether to buy now or wait, same triage.

          • @odal: I use the nvidia shield. It has a native Amazon prime video app, and of course, it supports 4k casting.

            • @ash2000: Hi ash2000 Thanks for that.

Great product from what I've read previously, but nvidia shield long ago triaged way out of out considered reasonable price range. If spending that much, we'd prefer to direct it into a new "65 or 75" TV with sufficient memory and native support for all the latest downloadable apps.

Holding off on that upgrade for as long as possible the way fads and standards change these days.

  • Grabbed one last time. They are good. Very comfortable and warm.
    Ploy /cotton blend.
Go one size lower. I usually wear L so picked up M.
Yes worth every cent ( as someone said above).
    Don't forget cashback.

  • Weird Anyone not getting size guide for this?

    Actually S gone anyway.

  • No xls left

  • Thanks OP. XXL now sold out, deal expired :(

  • +7

I got one on the last deal disagree with the comments on quality. The garment is warm and comfy however:
Zipper feels cheap and is on the right - male zippers should be on the left
The cut is not quite right - a middle aged man like me is looking to hide rather than accentuate the middle
I got a $20 hoodie from Kmart that has a quality, large tooth zipper and sits much better

    • -1

Mate unless you were unlucky enough to be sent a miscut garment, you must be either FAF or buying a size that used to fit you 'once upon a time long long ago'?

I'm no ectomorph, and middle aged including all the body 'resculpting' that goes with it would be a delusionally optimistic descriptive euphemism. The cut of mine is a generous loose or relaxed fit. Midriff isn't a tight body hugging fit by any means, but they're not cut to fit Humpty or Dumpty either.

Zip is nylon, de rigueur soft garment like a hoodie fitment these days. Its pull tab is metal.

As for pedantry over left vs right zipper tab fitment conventions, that went out the etiquette and fashion window long ago, like belt buckle and hair parting conventions of yore. e.g. I have 2 genuine high quality Fox hoodies bought from a legitimate Fox garment source here which I just checked, both bought circa 2012 and 2013. They both have their zipper tabs on the right. Another example of modernity with convention surrendering to functionality, the majority of people being right handed and using that hand to operate the zipper. My high quality and expensive McKinley all weather overjacket. Zipper tab on the right.

But wait, there's more, ….being interminably curious, I just went and checked my genuine RAAF original issue operational flying jacket issued to me from RAAF stores in early 1978 that I wore in the service in everyday flying ops and kept as a nostalgia piece after grad and posting to a squadron acquiring a subsequent reissue for the new squadron patches. Over 40 years old now, its zip tab is …..on the right. In its size it doesn't quite fit me now with the same dashing elan it once did, even though a generous working cut for size. Funny 'bout that. o.O

  • +2

    Prices went back up :/

  • no medium sizes :( but upboat for the deal ,good value

    • Get upboat up ya

  • I usually buy winter wear from my DFO before jeanswest shut down in local area, still some good stores though. Bought a shit tone of jackets/tops for $15 each, the really really thick ones too. Cotton on had $5 sweaters that were awesome. I see something like this and its part poly and looks thin >.>
