  Has anyone got these installed? Are they as bright as normal down lights? Contemplating doing to whole home.

    I've done 3 rooms. Love them. Always thought the whole colour temperature thing was a bit of a wank, but being able to use the warm colours in the morning is a lot less brutal on the eyes.

    In terms of brightness - I can't say - I replaced a single ceiling bulb with 4 of these in my main living area, and of course it's fine. I have 2 in a (large) bedroom (replacing two hideous oyster lights), and 3 in a dining room.

    I wish they were this price when I bought them!

    As others have said, legally speaking you need a sparky to install them.

    Be aware they are not the "standard" size hole - as I recall they are 100mm (versus 90mm or something).

            Comes with screw terminals, pretty straightforward. My sparky wired them to short leads and installed GPO's in the roof to make it easy to replace them in future, if needed.

            I was hesitant about that at first, but now if I move house I can easily take my Hue's with me :-)

  The price you pay for mulling the decision to buy them overnight lol. They seemed to have a max of 5 allowed each. I hope no one tried to elude this limit with multiple accounts as Amazon bans both accounts for going around the item limit.
