Price beat Amazon by a dollar

    • +1

A dollar but same delivery and returns conditions? Mmmmm

  • +7

The alternative was to price match and beat them by 5%, so it was bound to happen.

  • +4

Other colours are also reduced, so this is a better deal (Amazon is still better after Cashback) if you don't want black.

  • Does it come with a clear case in the box? Ordered one, don't know if I should order a case as well.

    • No case

      • Thanks, will order one separately now… gotta be a clear case, so prism green will shine through, no pun

Great to see Officeworks getting in the game when they didn't need to, more competition is better for us.

    • +16

Nah its just that thry don't want forken ozbargainers flooding their phones and pricebeating amazon

      • Doubt it. They didn’t have to as the Amazon price is exclusive to Prime members rather than public.

        • Pricebeating JB which also went down in response to Amazon

  • +3

ordered a 10e, was torn between this an a 10+, as the price difference would have been ~150 only (got a deal), but at the end opted for 10e because of the smaller form factor and also FLAT SCREEN!

Hopefully I won't regret it, currently using a plus sized phone, so may take a while to readjust back to a smaller form factor

    • +1

Great choice I would say, the curve edge it’s so annoying when put on glass protectors

    • I transitioned from the S7 to S10 Plus, have a few gripes with it but I think for $150 I would still go with it over the S10e, felt one in store, too small for me. Both great phones but I think S10 is probably the sweet spot for size because there are barely bezels. Will save you the trouble of using a Loca Glue Tempered Glass protector though.

      • s10+ is better if you need larger phones but for me s10e has same specs except for camera and screen size.

        • +1

Yeah, that's why I'd go for S10 personally if I could do over, S10+ is a tad too big and I have pretty large hands as well. In-screen fingerprint reader is pretty great too (hit or miss for some people but I had to put in multiple prints of the same finger to get it working well and it's fast and works well) I prefer fingerprint readers on the front so if I have it down on a table I don't have to pick it up, only problem is rarely any deals on the regular S10. They're all great phones though.

          • @Jasonissm: All in all both are great phones but it would be great if they still have the face and iris recognition as I find that the most reliable

          • @Jasonissm: I was really worried about mis-pressing on rounded edges on the S10 and S10+, and they are certainly more susceptible to damage

            • +1

@ieatbargain4dinner: I don't really have issues with mispresses, the main issue in my opinion is the bad viewing angles of the curved screen making full screen content look dimmer along the edge which is quite annoying.

      • +1

people are getting tricked with curved screens .. curved screens are in fact, just huge bezels because it screws up all the image beneath.

      • where u get 10+ for $878?

        • ~840 at EPP

    • Got the 10e. It's quite good but the fingerprint reader has some issues due to its small size. When you unlock it with your index finger, you usually have to try a few times. It is quite annoying. Hope they fix it with a software update.

    • a plus sized phone with a curved screen is actually a small screen in a big form factor.

bought a s10+ and after ignoring the blurry curved edges, it had a tiny narrow screen .. it was really screwed up .. the pixel 3 XL is amazing and the s10e will be great too.

make sure you buy a USB-C to HDMI adaptor so you can sell your home computer and use Samsung Dex from your s10e.

    • I got the same phone a while ago, and off Ali got one of the new UV liquid adhesive glass screen protectors and a clear case that has rubberised sides and an acrylic back. About $5 each.

Has had 3 big drops already, no problems. Feel like this phone gonna last a long ass time.

This is beautiful. Amazon truly squeezing all the competition.

  • +6

Better to go with Amazon to get Shopback?

    • +3

Obviously, although still waiting amazon to beat officeworks

  • Good for non-prime members.

I expect the price to revert back to normal after the prime day promo ends.

  • waiting for a s10 offer at a local officeworks. was meaning to skip 2 generations and get the s11 next year, but hard to resist at this price after tax returns…

  • Is this dual-sim model ?

    • No, I don't think we get dual sim S10e here.

If you want dual sim S10e, you will need to get overseas models. There is a Hong Kong model with dual sim, Snapdragon 855 and a bonus bumper (case), but has the HK/UK style power plug. Also, it generally costs more due to having Snapdragon 855 CPU (~$810-$815). Also, with dual sim model, it is either dual sims or 1 sim + 1 microSD card (when in dual sim mode, you cannot use microSD card).

Other overseas models with dual sim also available, Exynos CPU version, those tend to be cheaper and were previously selling in mid to high $700.

If you do decide to go for an overseas model, I suggest you consider Snapdragon 855 version. It's unclear whether Samsung corrected the photo (HDR processing) issue in Exynos model (I hope that's fixed). Also, gaming, Snapdragon 855 does have a better GPU.

The price of this one is very attractive though.

      • 855 should be faster and longer battery life since its 7nm architecture compared to 8nm on exynos

        • Exynos actually has a much faster cpu in single core applications, but its on par with the 855 in multicore. Graphics in exynos is also pretty much on par with 855

          • @ccsvchost: Is it still though, haven’t searched geekbench for a long time. But i’m Doubting it since it’s spdiffdrent architecture

          • +1

@ccsvchost: The Geekbench single core result doesn't seem to translate to real world app results. For example, for Web browsing, 855 is still faster. 855 is consistently faster in apps. Gaming, 855 is faster and has more consistent framerate. Battery life is also a bit better with 855 as well.

The margin this time around isn't big enough to justify the $100 premium (not to mention overseas models). However, image processing differences is a bit annoying. Also, the cool part of Exynos 9820 is not available to users at all (4K@150fps recording, not even 4K@120fps; 8K recording - while the CPU is capable of, is not supported due to the sensor size, but 4K@120fps and 4K@150fps would be really cool).

            • @netsurfer: Sucks Samsung choose cpu based on region, not worth getting overseas model with 855 in case phone fails within 2 years

      • Exynos's new Night photos mode actually beats my Pixel 2XL's night sight mode. Colour me impressed.

  • Lol so they can make it cheaper. If not for Amazon people will still pay thru the roof

  • This, or the iPhone XS Max for $2350?

    • +9

Buy 3 of these and glue them together for the same price.

      • I approve this message

  • ended up getting a $50 gift card on top of the phone due to an inconvenience that was caused by my local store informing me there was stock before i placed my order by 2 employees and then being told there was none when i went to pick it up however all resolved with great customer service by the local store and head office
so i guess its technically the cheapest s10e im going to be seeing for a while
    thanks for the post

  • Didn't know it could reach this price so soon :/
Bought it through Woolworths plan when it was first released…

  • This or the pixel 3a? It's only an extra $80 for the Samsung.

Seems that Samsung has alot more features and camera even though not as good is good enough.

    • Samsung and you can’t go wrong

  • BEND THE KNEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Cool time to upgrade from my Galaxy 9 and spend another 1k. Lol still using my ZTE Axon 7 which I upgraded to from a Iphone4 after 8 years.

    • Lol I'm looking to upgrade from my axon 7 to the s10e. Mainly since my Axon 7 decided to play up and is currently going through warranty as we speak. I doubt that they can repair it without it exceeding the cost of what I paid for the phone ($299). Not to mention that my spare phone that I'm using is on it's last legs.

  • Dam should have waited, got it from $768 and thought I scored a bargain.. Not so much now.. Oh well..

  • Thanks OP, sat on this purchase for over a month…finally nabbed a Black S10E at my local Officeworks for $728.

  • Now showing as $987 and unavailable online for me

    • +1

But…you can now go in-store and price match with Amazon to possibly get it for $691!

  • Can someone explain how it's $728?

    • +1

They recently retracted their price so now it's $987 again. But, available for price match in-store.

    • +1

You are looking 24 hours too late, that's why this is now marked as EXPIRED.

      • I'm waiting for the note 10 anyway, I was just wondering if they price match amazon or something. Was a bit confused after reading the comments

        • They did Pricematch Amazon.

Amazon subsequently pricematched Officeworks this morning before OW increased their price, It's still $728 on Amazon.
          https://www.amazon.com.au/s?k=galaxy+s10e&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

          • @ESEMCE: NO but OW price matches websites and beat it by 5% right? Either way, Im trying to get a decent deal on the note 10+ instead of dishing out 2K (most likely price)

  • Do you think we will see the phone in this price range anytime soon?
