Panasonic Arc 5 ES-LV65 $217.55 Delivered @ Shaver Shop eBay

10
PARSLEY

Was looking for a shaver, and determined this is what I wanted for the closest shave. See it on Amazon for about $204 Delivered from US but found this one on ebay today with australian warranty from a brick and mortar shop. So extra $13 for local stock and quicker delivery is pretty good.

This is the lowest I found in the past few days but it's not the lowest ever on ozbargain but I find it's not much far off.

Thought I share

  • Great Shaver. I got a 2nd hand one off eBay which the seller threw in a extra set of foils and blades. Got it for $50.
When i visited japan, got a replacement foils and blade which basically upgraded it to the latest Japan model with the titanium rollers, making it a even nicer cut. Was around $60 for the upgrade.

    • +1

never thought ppl getting used shaver

      • With a new foil / blade it's effectively a new shaver. I wouldn't go that route either, but honestly it's not a big deal, similarly to the bacteria we're exposed to in public places / workplaces. Besides, any blood transmitted diseases die pretty quickly in open air especially if you thoroughly disinfect.

On a tangent, what people should be more concerned about is eating food that's been in the open / refrigerated for hours. Particularly foods like rice where it's prepared in bulk and eaten over prolonged periods of time.

A lot of the recurring gastrointestinal issues that people just get used to are partially a result of bad food storage practices and can rarely be fatal if you're unlucky. People are overly concerned about 'freshness' and avoid using the freezer when they really ought to.

    • How do you tell if you have the titanium blades or not?

      • The newer design has two gold coloured comfort rollers between the two sets of outer foils.

    • True getting it 2nd hand could save but then getting new foils and blades I check it's around $100 yikes! How much was it from Japan? Can you get generic foils and blade for this model like OEM stuff?

      $100 for replacement is yikes

      • Was a official Panasonic replacement Foils / Blade Set.
If i were to purchase the model in Japan would have costed almost $350.

Australia doesn't sell any model that is better than the one listed here. But Japan stocks better models, and their blade sets fit this handle.

The guy i got it off was a pretty good deal. Since he also gave me completely new in sealed package blade sets for the ARC 5, so basically just needed a good clean.

We do get the LV6A/9A models here under the LV6N/9N names, which are the next models from the one posted here. You're right that we don't get any of the next 3 here though. Really wanted the LV9CX, but ended up settling for a Braun Series 9.
