    How was the taste?

    • +4 votes

Doesn’t compare to what you would get on Victoria street or at a legit Vietnamese restaurant…but for free? Hell yeah it was tasty.

Lacked some of the vibrant lemongrass flavours you would get from a proper restaurant and was a touch on the oily side.

Proper Bún Bò Huế has so much chillies in it so if you are not from the central region/Huế or used to hot food, you shouldn't taste anything after the first mouthful.

      • +1 vote

Can confirm, selected “Slap in the face” (the middle option for heat) and your description is incredibly accurate. I love spicy food too but this is next level.

      • +2 votes

Hmm all the BBH I have had in Hue from proper BBH stalls had the saté on the side so you could increase the spicy ness to your desired level. Hot yes but not Thai hot.

    Hot Noods HAHaHAHAHAHAHAHA

  •

bun bo hue vs pho.. the great deciding battle

  •

    Thanks!!

The only concern I have is the portion.

  •

    Thanks OP :)

My local Roll'd at Knox isn't doing too well… I just redeemed the BBH and they told me I was their first customer of the day 😭

    • +3 votes

      Eat there more often.

      • +1 vote

Used to work there, Vietnamese don't eat in there, it isnt authentic food. A bit rip off price but if you eat in bundle it would be cheaper. Doesnot recommend Fries and Soldier but Pho is pretty decent

          Their bánh mì are terrible.

          • +1 vote

@Flying Ace: omgosh can confirm, their banh mi, bread is not fresh its like a weird soft crumbly, half assed ingredients, couldnt even taste the pate, for $9.50 a pop, complete and utter rip off. I bought once cos too lazy to go to the other chain store in my area "Bun Me" and regretted it.

    •

Lucky for Knox this didnt work for me lol didnt get any email for free BBH

theres a few good viet places in bayswater and Noos Noodles in Wantirna isnt too bad as well

      •

Warm and cozy in Boronia is fabulous. Amazing food and fantastic value with lots of meat and vegetarian options. They have one of the best Bahn mi I’ve tried too.

Keep in mind that the restaurant itself isnt fancy in the least and it’s tiny but great food.

    •

Aw, I go there sometimes :( that makes me a little sad.

Tbh that inside food court is one of, if not the worst of any shopping centre in Melbourne imo. The options available are just really mediocre. At least the outer area is better but man.. they gotta hurry and renovate it and bring in some more exciting places. At one point they were going to open a nene chicken and then for whatever reason they opened a “cup n cup” instead which did not last long at all. Was drinks with snacks inside the lid..

  •

Just redeemed it. Tastes awesome. Thanks OP!!!!!!

  •

Rolled were giving away spring rolls too.

  •

Do you add the code to the app and use whenever or only add the code when you're about to order?

  •

Thanks OP, just had my noodles and they were pretty damn good. A decent amount of meat and the soup was very tasty.

  •

Sorry how do you register to receive the code? Via the app?
All good, the form has loaded on the page now. (was really slow to load) Thank you!

  •

I get the error “your cart items quantity is not valid for the coupon”, anyone else got this??

  •

Has anyone been able to redeem their loyalty points from the app? I'm curious to know what 1000 points or 10000 points gets you…

  •

Stupid question but where do you input the code?

  •

    Is the coupon code unique?

  • +4 votes

I appreciate their freebies promo, but seriously they need to make their food more appealing to Asians in general if they wish to survive long. Any decent Vietnamese can tell it's not proper viet good from miles away..

    • +4 votes

asians arent their market. its the clueless caucasian working professionals. $9.50 for a terrible banh mi when theres a significantly better one around the corner for $7.50

      •

That's the thing you could only fool your customers for that long, even the caucasians. Once they found a much better one, they'll be gone forever. That's why quality and business loyalty is very important. If their food are good, I wouldn't even mind pay more to eat at rolled due to their convenient location, if their foods are really good..

      • +1 vote

$7.50 wow, the best in Sydney are only $5 but I can remember when they were $3.50

  •

I tried with brand new accounts, different coupon codes, even different stores, but still getting the below error:

"your cart items quantity is not valid for the coupon".

    Anyone else getting the same?

I've added payment methods and also tried adding other items to the cart also, no luck…

    •

Resolved my issue! Just need to update to the newest version which came out a day or so ago… YAY BBH 4 lunch!

  •

I got coupon code not found message. why?

  •

Too easy, and delicious value for $13.90 for nothing

  •

Double check your selected branch has a hot food kitchen first. Tried Martin Place & Australia Square in Sydney, order got rejected a few times as I thought it was a connection issue. When I went there the shopkeeper explained they don't serve hot food. She said she was puzzled why these spicy pho orders kept appearing and she kept rejecting them..

I think their app isn't implemented that well - it's not filtering the restaurants by menu.

The app also doesn't work on Android Q beta which I am using with Pixel 3. It crashes due to app location permissions, I had to install it on my older nexus.

    Claimed at metcentre

Tiny ass portion. Would never pay 13.90 for that

  •

How long does it take to receive the email? Not getting it

  • +2 votes

I found I needed to add my credit card details before it'd work. It was going back to the main screen without placing the order after pressing the place order button.

  •

For a spice wimp, how spicy is the mildest one?

  • +1 vote

did they change it so you cant sign up through the URL now?

  • +1 vote

For anyone who hasn't tried the real BBH, this Roll'd BBH is far from authenticity (small size vermicelli, Pho soup, no satay or shrimp sauce flavour etc). But it's FREE anyway.

  • +1 vote

do you have to enter a credit card to redeem this? I tried doing this and managed to enter the code in successfully and the cart had the item at $0. When I clicked proceed it had nothing in the order section

  •

Couldn't get it to work (probably because I've already had the Roll'd app for a while). Got it anyway, was pretty good. I love Roll'd, decent Vietnamese food if there's no actual Vietnamese restaurant in the immediate vicinity.

  •

Tried the coupon this morning and discount is now down to 1% off only instead of 100% off as per yesterday.

Anyone else have same issue? Maybe the deal has been OzBargained… lol

  •

For anyone that has ordered this, can you confirm you still need to input card details even though it comes to $0?

  • -2 votes

Their app is rubbish. I tried to claim yesterday, all went through, then the store didnt get my order so I didnt get any food. Trying today, the BBH bowl doesn't appear at all.

    •

I reckon it's been OzBargained. It says sold out when I press reorder on the app as it's not showing in the menu (I claimed yesterday). Note I had to wait 45 mins yesterday as they were cooking a new batch of soup, the lady said they had a massive amount of orders. They marked my order as ready (per status in the app) after about 5 mins even though it wasn't. Then she said she couldn't find my order but gave me one anyway.

Agree it's not worth the $13+ price tag so I wouldn't get it again from there.

Its an easy way for Roll'd to lose my business for life.

  •

Just got one in Melbourne Central. Easy, no issues.

  •

I just tried and my discount code worked; I was even able to add a meal - but after I ordered the app crashed!
When I went back in, only the small size was available, thankfully the CC wasn't charged!

weird thing happened, i got three free bbh coupon codes sent to me (by accident perhaps?) to the same email address.

3 bowls of bbh for free, ill take it

    • +1 vote

Are all those codes valid on the same account? That's quite the win

      •

i haven't tried it on the same roll'd account, i decided to not take the risk and just made three accounts ( i got three spare gmail accounts to use)

        but yeah a definite WIN.

  •

Ordered mine was good for a free feed.

Only problem was I ordered to pick up at 1pm (ordered around 12.40) and they made the order straight away. Luckily I was close by.

  •

    cup size only…small bites

  •

Anyone notice some stores don’t have the BBH noodles?

  •

Got this today and really loved it – my first time trying BBH! Thanks OP!

  •

I can’t see the bbh as an option for the Robina store. Anyone else? They do sell hot food

  •

Anyone know how long it took the code to be emailed?

  •

Just got my free bbh today - thanks OP!

  •

Is it valid for the cup size or full size? Thanks

  •

How to make your own BBH? Full recipe pls =)

Just had bbh… it was the worse bbh I had in my life … and I'm vietnamese….

Had their pho before as well… this is probably the worst viet restaurant ever… can't believe how big they are.

The soup is just so salty undrinkable

  •

Is this all gone now? I signed up at the form at the bottom of the page but havent got anything after few hours..

Pretty funny how you can keep making accounts and keep getting new codes for a free meal. Know people who havent gotten 3 for free so far.
