  Razer source the panel from both LG Display and BOE and what you are getting is a kind of lottery.
  The BOE one is vastly inferior since it uses low frequency PWM to regulate brightness, which can easily cause eyestrain.

  This seems really expensive considering the gigabyte aorus 15-x9-fhd70 with the same specs sold for $2000.

    They probably charge more due to aluminium chassis, being thinner and lighter, design, and of course also because Razer is usually more expensive than other brands. Whether the extra is worth depends on what you prefer. Might even find bulky plastic laptops with an RTX 2080 cheaper than the Razer with RTX 2070.
