Currently far and away the best price I can find anywhere ($50+ more expensive) for lower latency (16-18-18) 3600Mhz RAM.

This is the speed and latency that will give near-best performance for the new Ryzen 3000 chips - although to be fair, we're only talking a few percent even in best case scenarios.

Interesting article on RAM performance with benchmarks included

  • It looks a good deal but I can't wait for 1-3 weeks…

    • I've order a few things from Amazon US and they always arrive with 1.5 weeks.

    CL16…

    • +2

The cheapest 3200 C14 modules in Australia are basically $100 more than this for bugger all difference.

      This is an excellent deal.

CL16 at 3600Mhz is fine. My friend purchased these from PLE, and they only run 3600Mhz at CL17 and won't push or work with their XMP profile no matter what. His BIOS is updated, and he has a $450+ motherboard. https://www.ple.com.au/Products/624501/GSkill-16GB-2x8GB-DDR…

      • What CPU?

        • 8700K (By "these" in the previous comment I meant the ones I linked from PLE in that comment, not the ones in the OP).

    • +1

CL16 at 3600 is good and apparently even better than expensive 3200 CL14 with Zen 2!

      • -1

        3600c16 is guaranteed b-die, so is 3200c14

Arguably 3600c16 is better binned than 3200c14, and is in reality roughly identical.

But yes 3600 is optimal if you don't want to tweak manually, infinity fabric is tied to memory speed automatically til 3600.

        • -1

This is E-Die so not exactly guaranteed

          • @jlapr1: Yeah realized after this, surprised e-die is this good even if subtimings are a little below b-die

Rest of my comment still stands

    • 3600…

      3600c16 is still good

    • +1

      It's ddr4 sticks ?

    • It says these ram obliterates ddr3..these are ddr4

      • My bad. English is my second language.

        • Yeah, English numbers are hard.

  • Too long wait for shipment.. I just need a ram kit for my 3700x build now

    • +5

      Time is money friend

      • AAAAhhh you got me mate!
I just bought this kit.. I can wait as i am trying to build my first gaming rig in Australia.. And if something better comes in terms of performance and price i can cancel this order and buy the other one since this has a long waiting time..

For old laptop Celeron b380, do you think 16gb ia overkill? (I know mine takes DDR3 I just asking if I should go to 16 or just 8gb ram). Currently 4gb

    • +2

      Instruction Set - 32 bit

You need a full system overhaul, not a RAM upgrade.

      • Yes I know it's old but already has ssd and basically I just browse internet and spreadsheet, and accessing my Nas

        • +3

with a 32 bit system and OS, you cannot use more than 4GB.

          • +1

@scrimshaw: Sorry my bad… Intel Celeron B830 @1.80GHz max ram is 16gm I checked the manual

            • +2

@CyberMurning: Oh I see, Intel Celeron B830 is a 64 bit CPU, and yeah it'll support DDR3 memory (not DDR4).

it is still kind of old though, and increasing to 16GB of RAM will alleviate issues with running out of RAM (especially if using Chrome and opening many tabs) but it won't improve it by leaps and bounds. You can still make do with 8GB of RAM.

              • @scrimshaw: Ok will get one stick of 8gb and see what happen (only 2 slots). Definitely feel slow with current 4gb. Checking gumtree now.

  • One of the reviews on Amazon is complaining it won't run at the advertised speeds.

    • He's using a previous generation Ryzen chip (2600x), the rules on what RAM works well are a bit (very) different for them.

      • is this the same for 3200g / 3400g ?

  • +2

This is the TRUE sweet spot. C16, 3600 and you’re sweet. Should beat any of the other C18 3600’s out there.

  • Can this work in conjunction with my 16gb 2 X 8gb 3400mhz c16 g.skill tridentZ? On my z170 i7 6700k

  • Does the price of RAM move very much? I might buy this for a future build, though it may sit in a closet for a while.
I realise it's better to wait but buying components over time works for me and I feel like RAM doesn't come down as much as CPUs and GPUs.

If Japan stops the exports of chemicals (required to create DRAM modules and semiconductors) to Korea then we may see a resurgence of inflated RAM pricing. Since Samsung produces most of the global DRAM supply, a restriction in trade will cause price hikes to happen. The odds of this happening are…. I have no idea.

But the odds of a price decrease seems unlikely.

You can track the pricing of DRAm using https://www.dramexchange.com/

    • gskill has ddr4-5000 on ces

Bought some. Now I'm waiting on X570, 2080, and Ryzen 3600X deals.

  • +1

I prefer MORE ram than LOWER CL. With $60-70 more you get 32gb 3600mhz.

    • -1

Hell, for about $20 more you can get 32gb @3000mhzCL16

    • -2

99.9% of people don't need more than 16gb currently.

32gb has no use for anyone outside of 4k editing, heavy database usage, or server usage etc.

Lower cl = faster usage in every possible workload.

Perhaps not worth the price hike to most people, but still, CL>capacity.

  • Is it bdie?

    • These are edie

      • Wait what really? Wasn't long ago that all 3600c16 kits were b-die!

I had no idea that e-die was this impressive

        Edit: ohhhh the subtimings

  • I pre-emptively bought this RAM, but finding a 3600mHz compatible mb ended up being expensive, and a hassle.
I ended up buying this motherboard which only supports DDR4-3466(OC) Memory. The RAM should still be compatible, right?

  • Has anyone who ordered this had it shipped yet? I ordered when the deal came up and it says August 3rd shipping. It’s the only bloody component I’m waiting on. Anyone know if I can buy a matching pair here, so I can get this build happening?

    • I'm in the same boat, still waiting.

      • I’m half tempted to buy some of the 3200mhz stuff on sale and sell it when my 3600mhz arrives

        • Similar to you but I'm considering cancelling it instead.

          • @davidl820: It’s a pain in the ass because I did get 3600X X570 and 2080 deals in quick succession, and all of those parts have arrived now.

  • Anyone had theirs arrive yet? Mine still hasn't shipped according to my Amazon orders

    • Same here.

      • I just this morning was charged for the ram. Also, if you go to the product page it says there's one in stock. Presumably that means they are shipping it today/tomorrow. fingers crossed

      • Shipment confirmed today. Due next week, finally!

        • Got charged this morning so probably going to get the email today or tomorrow like yours :)
