Hey all, I've just bought an Anker Nebula Capsule projector for my lounge room (i.e. Android based mini-projector) and would like to be able to stream free-to-air sports through it if possible.
AFAIK the Freeview and TV station apps won't show live sports due to licensing issues, so if that's the case I'm keen to get some form of TV tuner so I can watch telly the 'old fashioned' way.
Are there any recommended tuners out there that you can plug into an Android OS system and stream DTV?

If you want to reduce cables, boxes, setup time, consider just getting a Kayo or Foxtel Now subscription. You can also use Foxtel Go android app for free if you know someone who has a normal Foxtel subscription.
Otherwise if you really just want free to air, just grab any cheapie. Much of a muchness really - they will all be average compared to a TV inbuilt one.
Not sure how that projector will go with sports. It has a very low lumens spec.
Any Set top box will do.
Best to ignore the secondhand ones unless you're confident they support MP4 encoding which the new HD channels use.
Even though the Projector is not HD, you'll likely see better picture quality from a HD source.
Won't this have the issue of sporting events not having digital rights? Or is this different from the web/app streams you'd get on, say, the Freeview Plus or Channel 7 apps?
Basically I want to watch the AFL live if possible!
Not sure but worth a try. Should be the same feed as OTA.
You can use Plex to stream live tv to clients using a suppprtrd dvbt dongle
Alternatively you can use hdhomerun connect, a dvb-t turner that shares streams over local network
Hi! How are you finding this projector? Can you easily watch from the tv apps? Or Foxtel? I know it doesn’t work with Netflix. I’m considering getting one. Hope you managed to sort the live sport streaming!
