    great album…best thing they did

      Maladroit would like a word…

      • +2

The Blue Album would have to climb down into the cesspool of Post-Pinkerton crap just to hear what Maladroit wanted to say.

      • +1

Nah Pinkerton is where it's at

No idea how many times I watched the "Buddy Holly" music video thanks to the Windows 95 cd, but it was a lot ;)

    • +8

      It's still an incredible video!
Friggin genius, I'd love to know the backstory on how they wangled not just the rights to use Happy Days scenes, but also how they managed to get Microsoft to include it.

      • Having a great song must help.

    • +5

I discovered the music video on my computer before I'd even heard of happy days (I was very young), so I was really confused by it. When I eventually discovered what happy days was, I asked my dad which episode the weezer performance was from. He had a good laugh.

    • +4

I think I've seen the Buddy Holly vid at least 50,000 times… seriously! Back in the 90s I used to be the head of computer assembly in a local computer wholesaler and used that video as part of the basic test once the PC had been built and was about to go on non-stop soak test/burn-in for a few days. Used to average 50-70 PCs per day and I worked there for a few years so yeah, 50,000 times easily! Ahh the memories… "What's with these homies dissin my girl…"

    • -1

its on windows 95b, not A or C

      • Um no. I bought Windows 95 the day it was released and it included the video.

If you want to destroy my sweater…

  • Good for those on Prime!

The workers are going home….yeah yeah yeah!!!!!!

  • Thanks Op, ended up buying a couple more because of you! Nirvana/Kid See Ghosts.

      Wrong band

    • +3

you only get what you give!

    • +1

I alone love you; I alone tempt you …

  • +3

Awesome. I can buy this and convert it to MP3s so I can listen on my iPod.

    • +2

But Digital is not authentic. Only sneakerheads will understand.

  • Great album. Any deals for a record player?

    • +1

Just find a deal on one of the Pro-Ject players. Either via an eBay 20% off thing, or just haggle at a HiFi store.

They’re the best player you’ll get for the money (but don’t forget to buy a preamp too).

      • Which type? Primary, juke box, essential, or debut?

        • Any one will do the job. It just depends on what you want.

Debut is the “standard” model, Essential will save you some cash, Primary even more so, and the Juke Box is if you don’t want to fuss with a phono stage and amp and/or prefer Bluetooth speakers.

I’d get the Debut and a Phono Box, then plug it into your amp. But if that’s a bit pricey, then the other options are just fine for their price point as well.

          • @[Deactivated]: I have the phono box and now it plays only left channel audio after only a few hours of use

            • @Mokej: Hmmm… maybe an alternative preamp is in order then. I personally haven’t used the Phono Box, but assumed it would be up to the standard of Pro-Ject’s turntables.

              • @[Deactivated]: Yeah, super happy with the turntable (esprit) not so much the phono box

          • @[Deactivated]: Done, got the debut and a phono box. I also have a pair of Edifier R1280DB speakers on the way. When you say plug it into your amp, what exactly do you mean? I'm sure I'll figure it all out but it's nice to have access to an expert :D

            • @MegaMane: Your Edifiers have a built-in Amp so just connect it all up as per the bottom system in this image

              • +1

                @SteveAndBelle: Thanks, dude.

              • @SteveAndBelle: Do you have any personal experience with the Project Debut? No matter what I do I can't get the needle arm to balance. It keeps swinging around everywhere.

                • @MegaMane: No sorry mate. I've seen and heard them a million times but don't own one myself. Maybe just Google for a video and see if it's good enough to compare yours with another as there may be something genuinely wrong with yours. Sounds like it needs a weight adjustment but as that's pretty easy there may be something wrong elsewhere.

    So excited until
    1) I realized I did not have a record player.
    2) Have no idea who this band is.

    • +4

      Gtfo.

      • -4

        Yeah - I was surprised I didn't have a record player either!

  • Thanks, just ordered one :)

  • +3

I was going to buy it but reviews of the pressing say it's a heap of shit

    • +2

Well spotted. Revoked my + on this basis.

      • I'm still tempted but sending it back would be a pain, shame however

        • From what I've read about Amazon product grievances if it's no good and your complaint is reasonably legitimate they would probably refund your money and tell you to don't bother returning it.

          • @herbo: Oh that's good

            • @DemocracyManifest: Experiences probably vary but I've read a few threads on here where people's complaints were resolved with a refund and not to bother sending back. Particularly for lower value items. I recall recently people getting that barefoot investor book through Amazon and there was a version problem and those that complained were refunded and told not to bother sending it back. Anyway I've ordered this weezer album. Will see what turns up.

        • Not sure if it is the case with this one but I also know slot of people who have pressing issues also have a really terrible record player.

Now I won't buy the current pressing of Jeff Buckley Grace because the review talks of the fact that it should have been 2 lps 45 rpm because it sounds compressed vs the cd

  • So apparently they made two good albums and this is one of them, and they've made a crapload of bad albums. I'll give it a try.

    • yeah this is the best

    • +1

I don't know why they ended up so bad, you'd think the record companies would have dropped the shit material

  • +1

    Please, try the fish.

  • +1

Only in Dreams makes me think of the summer I dated a girl

    • And all the other summers?

  • +2

What's with these homies dissing my girl?

    • Why do they gotta front?

  • Weezer are terrible. There I said it.

  • -1

Weezer are terrible. There I said it.

    • +2

      twice

      • maybe so people reading from the bottom of thread upwards didn't miss it.

        • I guess the internet wanted to make sure the point is made twice

  • +1

I wanted to name my son Jonas, after the song. Wife said no.

  • My pressing came, courier left it in the SUN but thankfully it didn't warp and sounds fantastic thanks OP

  • My copy is absolute shit, lots of background hiss and distortion on side 2, Amazon want me to ship it back to them for the refund, fark!
