QFF Points - Credit Card - Bonus Points

Hi all

Just wondering if there are any good credit card deals to get Bouns QFF points.

I'm currently with CITI bank and coming close to the $4,000 spend so trying to line up my next card.

I want it to include Government spend as i plan to pay my rates (approx $2k) with the CC.
St George and CommBank are not an option as I've recently closed accounts.

Cheers

thanks but the $450 annual fee kills that deal for me.

You get a $450 travel voucher to use on Qantas flights. You can easily sell that for ~$350, so the effective annual fee is $100.

Maybe just go here to check out what's available: https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/earning-points/c…

        • yeah I've checked that
not many options for me really, most offers exclude Government spend as eligible.
i was hoping someone in a similar position had stumbled across a good offer

          • @Numpty21: That site lists ALL of the Qantas earning credit cards.
However the deals do change slightly from time to time, so it is worth checking every now and again.
They seem to cycle first year annual fee free on the top points sign up bonus cards. I've done ANZ twice, Westpac, and just recently St George for free, and citi (branded qantas a the time) for $49.
Helpful Ozbargainers also generally post the "no annual fee in first year" deals as well, so keep an eye out here too

          • @Numpty21: Pretty sure all cards now do reduced points for Government spend.

Deals which inc. government spend in the bonus points spending requirements are as rare as hens teeth (at least according to the T's and C's)

The citi deal is an exception to this although the T's and C's suggested otherwise. paying gov spend by postbillpay with paypal sometimes works as a work around.

My advice is this, try and do the requirement without any dubious spend such as government. Or if you want to try and include gov spend then do it before the end of month 2. if you haven't got the bonus points in your statement at the end of month 2 then Contact the issuer and confirm if you've qualified or not. Be prepared to have to make up the balance if they say no to including your government spend. Prepaying utilities bills or buying discounted woolies gift cards is a good avenue to reaching the target.

  • Bankwest world looks good.

big sign up bonus, free int transaction fee. 1 pt per $ spend. Reasonable yearly fee.

Shame that I don't have enough income to apply it.
