From Wednesday, they are $5.50 at Coles

Seems like no one posted this one.

Probably because everyone only buys them at this price every other week.

Twinings of London, no surprise most varieties are made in China.

I thought Australian Afternoon Tea was made in Australia?

      • +1

Made and packed in China. Which isn't so surprising given that the tea is grown there too.

There are Australian grown tea brands like Nerada. T2 and other good tea shops also sell Australian teas. I don't mind T2's one, called "Daintree".

      • I guess no one got the K-Rudd reference….

I too am shocked that the country where tea originated, and the world's largest producer, is where most tea comes from.

You might also be surprised to learn that should you fall into the Pacific Ocean you are very likely to become wet.

Irish Breakfast is made in Poland.

      • It is a big fat lie only asserted by the Woolworths website.
If you look carefully, they have done an editing job (in green tones), on the image of the box on the Woolworths website.
Where on the other tea types, like English Breakfast, it states clearly in the image of the back of the box (and on my box at home), that it is "…blended by Twinings of London in China using the finest imported and local ingredients."
At the very least the printing and manufacture is done in China, though the tea may be sourced from elsewhere.

          • @ak47wong: My comment is still valid as on the website on Woolies for Extra Strong English Breakfast it says lazily
"Blended and packed in Poland to the highest standards by Twinings of London using the finest imported and local ingredients." (for all of the teas in fact).

            https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/829281/
the back of the package once again shows editing…
but on my box at home it still says
"…blended by Twinings of London in China using the finest imported and local ingredients."

            SO settle down yourself ak47wong

$5.50 is the NEW $5.00 for these tea bags…… on 'special' every few weeks

    • Real cost of living inflation creep. Easily unnoticed.

    • Still cheap for 100 tea bags though - 5.5c plus some boiling water and a bit of milk for a hot drink. Bargain

    Tea. Earl Grey. Hot.

    • +1

      Make it so.

  • Earl Grey tea is very nice for ice tea (making a hot tea, wait it it got defused, then add ice and cold water to your liking).

      wait it it got defused

      Does it have explosive taste?

    Gotta love some Tea bag (';

  • Bought them all during the last 50% off! Enjoyed some a lot. Unfortunately my quest to find the taste profile of the tea I grew up drinking in the African tea highlands remains unfulfilled. The pantry is bursting with tea but I'm enjoying the journey.

  • Twinning is like top brand in London.

  • Assam Bold will change your life

    • does it taste like bubble tea?

    • How would you describe the flavor? Is it an aroma thing?
