Had this on my watch list and has just dropped by $20 so bit the bullet and bought one for the home gym. Would think it's a better quality product coming from Adidas than some of those generic brands.

Get those surfboard abs ready for summer… Or use it as a rolling pin and make some cookies to bring out a round belly!

  • How do you use this correctly without damaging your back?

    • +5

You shouldn't be going far enough or losing core tightness so much that your lower back starts to hyperextend.

      • Ok. Thanks

    • Keep posterior pelvic tilt, then go as far as you can maintain it.

      • -1

Maintain neutral. How to find neutral? Tilt all the way one way and tilt all the way the other way, then find the middle ground.

Jamming your tailbone under or "posterior tilt" is short term solution to overcome weakness in lower back stabilisers.

tl;dr any back pain? Stop. Common sense. Talk to a recommended professional

Maintain posterior pelvic tilt I mean.

Jamming your tailbone under or "posterior tilt" is short term solution to overcome weakness in lower back stabilisers.

To get in "posterior pelvic tilt" position means you have to engage your core, which is a prerequisite for any core exercise. Posterior pelvic tilt also helps release lower back extension which you don't want for this exercise.

tl;dr any back pain? Stop. Common sense. Talk to a recommended professional

I agree that if there's back pain we should talk to professional straight away. However we're talking about how NOT to get back pain by performing the exercise with correct form.

          • @ChubbyMastiff: Maintaining posterior tilt is not a prerequisite for engaging core. It's a easier way to engage core but not the long term solution and is a bad habit to perform.

Maintaining neutral is better then teaching a cheating technique to "engage" your core by posterior tilting.

    Adidas Ab Wheel

Beats a wheel from Addis Ababa

  • Classic retro exercise equipment. Noice

  • +2

Bugger missed out. I bought the cheap one from Kmart that is 2 separate wheels jammed together and I find it too unstable to use

  • +1

They're is pretty decent generic brands around for reasonable prices which are solid builds.

I have lower back issues and this form of an training doesn't hurt me, so it's a thumbs up from me.

This is idiotic. You're comparing these exercises to a ~2,500 year old society of men that dedicated their entire lives to military service, starting intensive training regimes at 7 years of age.

How much money is the plank/burpee equipment (i.e. nothing) making people by the way?

What are you suggesting, everyone quits their jobs and becomes warriors?

Yes, eating responsibly, getting sufficient sleep and daily exercises are key to a healthy lifestyle, but none of those things are going to build and strengthen your core, which for many people, is very important. The ab wheel is a simple yet extremely effective way to get great core results.

No rest days? LOL. Tell that to the idiotic professional athletes that should stop reading into "bullshit" and just train every day.

      • How much money is the plank/burpee equipment (i.e. nothing) making people by the way?

You must be one of those naive people that quickly buys the next '360 Ab-Doer' - As Shown On TV!
Go research how many people have done their backs and shoulders with Burpees…

What are you suggesting, everyone quits their jobs and becomes warriors?

No people put down the Doritos, Ice Cream and Fast Food.

The Ab-360-Roller-Fat-Burner isn't going to help when people are infatuated with fast-food.

Lol planks and burpees making money for who? They're just exercises which require zero $$$ to do.

one of the dumbest comments i've read today. well done

    Dammit missed out!

If you want defined abs you need to change your diet to cut out fat.

No ab exercises will work on their own.

    • Thats what I was saying above.

These tools and exercises are fads - you can roll yourself on this tool 500 times a day, if you have fat on the belly it ain't going unless you change your diet.

  • It's not adidas but should do the job just the same -
