Overview

Meet the Google Pixel 3.
Capture the perfect shot every time, get things done with the Google Assistant,[1] enjoy a battery that lasts up to a day,[2] and more.

A camera so good that it deserves unlimited online storage.
Get everyone in the picture with wide-angle selfies—no selfie stick required. Snap portraits like a pro with Portrait Mode. Capture smiles, not blinks, for a great photo every time. And save all your favourite moments with unlimited online photo storage.[3]

Charges fast. Lasts long.
Pixel 3 comes with a battery that charges fast and wirelessly (wireless charger is sold separately), and lasts up to a day. It’s even smart enough to limit battery usage for the apps you don’t use often to keep going longer.[4]

Your Google Assistant.
Get help from your Google Assistant: get sports scores, news, commute times, weather info and more – all with a simple squeeze, or just by using your voice.[5]

The joy of missing out.
Disconnect from your phone when and where you want so that you can focus on time with family and friends. Set timers on apps and turn off visual notifications. Use the wind-down mode to turn the screen to greyscale and get ready for a good night's sleep.

Make your world come to life.
Search what you see with Google Lens[6] to look up clothing and home decor, copy and translate text, and identify landmarks, plants, and dogs. Play with life-like AR stickers for your photos and videos.

i got overexcited to have recognized the title as "google pixel 3 at $400".

    • Hi Rep,do JB take offers on already discounted item ?

      • +2

sorry im not rep, accidentally tick the wrong box…

    • People should already know this. Pixels don't have the best hardware or software, but they get the fastest updates

      • And they have the best cameras.

        • They have a fantastic camera, but it's very basic. There is no optical zoom, macro, or wide angle lens. So it's extremely restricted to the most basic of camera. IMO if you like taking photos, you will get better photos out of other phones easily. - this is coming from someone who had PXL, P2XL, P3XL and now S10e.

          • @onlinepred: Assuming S10e is the best of the lot then? How about low light?

            • +1

@Ry009: If you are just doing a quick point and shoot, then P3XL got better low light shots - but this will only really be noticable when you have both phones, take the photo on each phone, then go back to a desktop and start critiquing it.

If you have time to rest the device against something, the S10E in manual mode gets a much better night shot.

          • @onlinepred: And yet most reviewers still consider it the best camera in a smartphone.

I guess it depends on your criteria, but IMO the best camera would allow even unskilled people to get reliably excellent results with little to no effort. And that's what the Pixel does better than anything else - you can just point and shoot, and the very first photo will be a keeper.

I agree that extra lenses would be nice and would add additional flexibility, but they're hardly essential for the majority of phone camera photos. Clearly you agree to some degree, since the S10e doesn't have an optical zoom either.

If you're a photography enthusiast, you probably should be using a proper camera.

            • @klaw81: Most reviewed aren't users. You need to realise this at some point.

If you want great photos buy a camera like you said.

Still doesn't make pixel any more flexible. Clearly Google agrees also as they are bringing now lenses in p4

    • id hardly call samsung hassle free

  • enjoy a battery that lasts up to a day

This is a selling point now?

    • It does if one wants to keep the battery in good condition.

      • so you dont use fast charge, ever?

      • A battery in "good condition" should last more than one day.

  • +4

Should have been the launch price.

    • +2

Agreed. I miss the nexus days.

  • The included charger charges from 20-100% in around 45 mins. Awesome for top ups. What I'm loving is wireless charging. Great phone. Came from P2 XL.

  • Throw in the trade-in again and i’ll Bite.

  • HN about to match with bonus Home Max
