  • Hey Jay,

Is it smell/taste like bakery goodness with whey included or is it like a why protein in solid form?

    • +1

Thanks for the question hey aj. We've been doing the chocolate ones in-store and they smell delicious - akin to bakery goodness. They smell just like pancakes. Also note they are not overly sweet, though they do have sweetness as you would expect in a pancake.

    • The main sweetener in here is monk fruit extract. We have all the ingredients listed up on the product page too. Hope this helps.

Edit: Tafe beat me to it!! :)

    • I'd prefer to naturally sweeten them with maple syrup. Sadly this would probably defeat the purpose…

  • Almost ordered some until I checked the reviews on Amazon and Supplement Reviews for the actual taste and consistency..I'll pass..

    • I am going to go with Jay's report on them and let you know what they are like.

    • +3

Personally I did find them to be very good, but this is subjective of course and will carry as much weight as any other review you'll find. If you do end up buying them and really don't like them we can arrange for a return at our cost. At least that way the risk is on us.

      • Off topic Jay but will there ever be a deal on 2x Oxyshred but I can choose the non-stim as one of the options?

I love Oxyshred in the morning but taking it at 4pm leaves me sleepless, non-stim would be perfect.

        • +1

Ah not sure on this one since they just brought out the non stim. Keep an eye out with our newsletter perhaps because if so it will be marketed there. At the moment we don't, but we always have the price beat option if you find cheaper, and we usually have a coupon you can use too (DEAL4ME is active at the moment which is 10% off, or 15% off orders $150 or more).

  • Hi OP, the chocolate sounds good but what about the banana flavour?

    • +1

It's also good. Personally although I do like both, I prefer the banana but the chocolate is ever so much more slightly popular in terms of sales. Takes like a banana pancake :)

  • Just an update, I got these in the mail on Tuesday and tried Chocolate that night and Banana last night. The packaging is solid with a resealable bag and I feel like these could outlast the use-by date if your willing to risk it like I am (I consume "out of date" whey protein all the time).

1/2 Cup makes one pancake and I recommend you add only the 1/4 water recommended as a thicker, smaller pancake is a lot easier to cook and flip than a skinny larger pancake unless you want to make it a crepe or something. I did try them 'naked' and I actually liked the Chocolate more than the Banana, both do taste quite similar to a normal pancake but they are a slightly different texture and a slight hint of that whey protein aftertaste.

I added honey and sliced banana to the banana pancake and some natural yoghurt to the chocolate one and it's a win for me as I am taking training more seriously and having biscuits or cake or some kind of dessert after strictly following macros throughout the day just undoes the good work, so this was a great solution for me.

I would love to try these as a waffle but need to grab a waffle maker next time one comes up on OzBargain.

    • Nice update hey aj. I'm going to try it out with natural yoghurt and banana, sounds like a good combo. Glad you like them too.
