Not a record low but still an excellent price for a quality clay bar nonetheless. Nearly 50% off.

Thought I'd get in line with all the other automotive deals going around.

A ~$5 clay off eBay is all you need. Those 3M blue colour clay bars do a decent job.

    • More info please, link?

        Something like this.

I use the blue 3M clay bar every 6 months with good results.

        • Thanks, did not know about those.

        • do you just car wash liquid as lubricant rather than the 'detailing spray' that comes with clay bar packs?

          • @mr_asstight: Yes. A small amount of car wash with water to lubricate. The trick is to keep the clay moving on the car surface. Stopping is when the clays wants to stick. In any case a polish after claying ensures a nice finish. Then a wax to protect the surface.

Run your fingers over your car paint after a wash. Is it silky smooth or can you feel a little bit of grit/bumps? If the latter, these are small particles trapped in the clear coat of your paint that won't come out with a normal wash. You need the clay bar to pull them out and you need to follow with a good polish/wax to fill in the gaps that are left behind. This will leave your paintwork literally look like new (unless there's serious damage).

Highly, highly recommend it. Makes an car with slightly dull paintwork look like it's come off the showroom floor.

  • FWIW I've used the Speed Clay and found it to be pretty good….
