Why dont they sell the matcha green tea one anymore :(

    • Yes. I miss this one too.

      • matcha trend has come and gone, kombucha seems to be all the trend now.

        • +5

im asian so matcha is my life

        • Mmm vinegary ice cream

    • +4

Matcha one was pretty crap from what I remember. Even the ones in the Asian grocery stores were better.

  • What's a good flavour to try?

    • They're all pretty good. So whatever jumps out at you flavour wise, go with. Personally, I'm a salted caramel addict… There's just not the support groups around to deal with these problems… Thankfully. 😉

      I'm 'ere.

Good icecream is still worth the gassiness, bloating and eventual diarrhoea.

      • Wish we could get continuous IV injection of Lacteeze into our bloodstream somehow 24/7.

      • No need with Lacteeze.

Geez, I didn't mean to make that ryhme.

Just get the extra strength stuff (Green packet, think it's called Ultra strength), I get very minor bloating still, but not much. It works.

  • Chocolate brownie not available :(

    • +1

Noooo! That was one of my favourites. Have tried all the tub flavours so was looking for some new flavours.

EDIT: Holy crap, I hope they bring the Queensland Mango flavour to tubs!
      EDIT2: Or the Merlot blackberry!

      • Managed to get one, i think it might depend on store availability

    • Available here, so maybe try a few click and collect locations near you?

  • +1

you have to spend a minimum of $30 for click and collect.

      Order six!!

  • CC is life, hella dangerous for me though.

  • What’s better, Connoisseur or Sara Lee?

    • -2

i prefer Sara Lee which is currently 50% off at Woolies.. or did it end yesterday?

Anyway I didn't buy any because it's mid winter.

Sara Lee is less dense, so it's easier to scoop. I've bent many spoons trying to scoop out Conns. They are just so hard to pierce.

I don't have that problem with Sara Lee. Less dense means you get less ice cream per tub, but at least I can actually scoop it out. With Conn, the spoon jabs into my palm from the force needed to scoop it out and it hurts my hand.

Surely that says something about the quality of the ice cream though…
Maybe you need to invest in a proper metal ice cream scoop? You could even warm it up first before scooping - won't take a sec - then it would glide through. No spoon jabs or bent spoons!

        • Surely that says something about the quality of the ice cream though…

Could be. If you want more ice cream per cubic cm, you'd want that.

I personally don't even like their flavors since most of them are chocolate based and I don't like chocolate ice cream.

Maybe you need to invest in a proper metal ice cream scoop?

That would work. But with other brands I don't have to. And I prefer less tools in the home because I have too much stuff already.

I admit it's a matter of taste and there's nothing wrong with preferring the Conns.

You could even warm it up first before scooping - won't take a sec - then it would glide through. No spoon jabs or bent spoons!

I have tried this. It sounds good in theory but what happens is the first scoop or two will be smoother but the coldness of the ice cream will quickly chill the spoon back to its cold state and you'll have to heat it up again. Metal is a good conductor of heat, so it will heat up quickly, but it will also cool down quickly. So this trick doesn't work for long before the spoon cools down. And then you're going to have to heat it up again. Do you lick the spoon clean before you heat it? Or do you just let melted ice cream drip onto the stove? Or do you clean the spoon with a sponge and detergent before heating it again? Yeah, more trouble than it's worth.

      • You could buy a plastic ice cream scoop.

      • lmao just wait 2-3 mins to get your fix and enjoy the better/cheaper ice cream

        • it's not going to soften that quick. Unless it was a midsummer's day maybe.

It's also not cheaper. Better depends on what flavors you prefer. If you like chocolate based flavors, sure. I like the Strawberries and cream which only Sara Lee does.

After trying all of the Conns, the only one I would buy is the one chocolate honey nougat but I think they've discontinued it. Everything else was too sweet. So was that one but it was ok. But since it's gone, there's nothing left for me to even buy.

I like their stick ice creams though.
