Hi I don't know anything about handbags. I would like to buy a gift my only requirements are it is made from leather and can be worn as a satchel or pack & is sturdy. For a woman.

I am in love with Mywalit bags. I have a handbag, small shoulder bag and a wallet/clutch that all match. They are a bit expensive though so not really in the Ozbargain style. If the person you're buying for loves bright colours I would recommend them highly. If you look at the clearance section of their website there are plenty for half price or less (but limited choice of colours and styles). I stalk it regularly in case I see something I like in my colour scheme (purple pink and orange).

Age of recipient plays an important part. A 20yo isn't gonna flash a brand who's audience are mainly grandma's.
I think the personality is more important than the age. Remember the grandmas of today grew up in the 60s and 70s; their taste may be too “out there” for the average 20 year old. I would look at the DFO outlet, they have Kate Spade, Oroton, Coach etc.

As far as design I am a little unsure either super whacky or understated / natural to get some more longevityI will pay that one.
I don't know anything either but from past hints from girlfriends, you buying it is the nicest bit but she will probably want to pick something that goes well with the rest of her outfit.
