TLDR - these damn watches are not water resistant :)

Saved all my money as a primary school age kid in the 80s to buy such a watch - $50 or so from the local chemist. I wore it to school for a few days and thought I was the coolest kid there. One afternoon, I spotted a 'penny' turtle in the creek. I waded in to creek to obtain said turtle, turtle disappeared, and watch somehow got water inside and broke - despite the 50m water resistant label. It still hurts! And yes, I know now there is no such thing now as a penny turtle.

It doesn't say it's 50m waterproof. "Water resistant" does not mean it can go under water; it means it can handle a few drops of water.

The watch used on the photo is actually dirty. Could they not find a model who does not bite his nails so badly?

    • Lol

  • Cheaper on ebay if you are prepared to wait for overseas delivery. Local stock is a plus.
