Just saw this deal on Amazon - had to find out what happens after Monday's season finale!
Seems to be around 45% off, much cheaper than anywhere else I could find.

Only issue is that will this price, the books will only arrive at the end of July!

    Great TV show..

    • My favourite TV show so far this year!

  • Where are people watching this legally in Australia? It won't start on Foxtel until 17/07/11!

Where are people watching this legally in Australia?

      They're not.

        eztv is my friend

    • I believe you can stream it off HBO's website? About a week before it is aired in the US or so… which is kind of redundant now that the first series is over.

Great deal for the books - would get them if I didn't already buy ebooks :(

The Kindle version is the same price. $10 more expensive, but without a $10 delivery fee.

Still, at least you can sell the books when you're finished with them. Unlike the Kindle edition.

      linux iso's

    • just use eztv, HBO streams it online free anyway, though you need to be in the US.

  • i guess these books would be the only ones i would voluntarily read, all thanks to the tv show.

  • The books are great although I warn you he might die before finishing them. Have been waiting years for the next one to come out. Funny, I didn't realise people still read 'paper' books anymore ..

These have been for 20 USD for ages and the Amazon shipping here havn't changed. So this is just their standard pricing.

    • This is true, I bought these after the first episode aired at this price. Either way more ppl are likely to buy after seeing this so won't neg.

True, but I just don't want to see this as a regular occurrence, because you could essentially put Amazon's entire book store up, since they will have similar level of savings.

  • I've been following this deal for a while after watching the show. Great series, i couldnt miss the books. Looks like they want us to purchase the new book as well hence the late shipping.

As far as i know dymocks and borders dont have the collection deal and the books are more expensive despite the $10 shipping :(

maybe more people would get Foxtel if you got quality for your money and not airing shows 6 months old

Amazon US cheaper than both Amazon UK or Book Depository.

Did consider buying but rather wait for the HBO version. ;)

Doesn't include the 5 book which is coming out next month. Might as well wait till then and order all 5 books and save through combined shipping (seeing as it's the normal price not sale or anything).

    • This looks like a good idea. I'm really torn about buying the books and waiting for the series 2 to air, but with a spring 2012 release date it looks like I might have to knuckle down a read something.

  • The books as a set will probably be released over here around the launch of the TV series, but they will be far more than this.

For those who have only seen the TV show, the books are a must have. This is one series that actually follows (almost word for word in some parts) the books. It helps having the Author as part of the team!

After a mere 6 year wait, the 5th book is due out this July! How long we need to wait for the next 2 is beyond me!

    • Lets hope the popularity of the series motivates the writer to get the other 2 finished faster…

I also get the feeling the 5th book may have been held back a year or so on purpose to allow the tv series to be filmed and released, to gather up interest…

      • Nope. The delay was because he had to split the book in half. There was too much happening in 1 book so his editors told him split it however you want, but you need 2 books.

Feast For Crows & Dance With Dragons both happen at exactly the same time. Feast is based on the southern kingdoms, dance is based beyond the wall & overseas.

It's much the same as Terry Goodkind did with Sword Of Truth and Robert Jordan planned (before he passed) with Wheel of Time. They've put so much work into these stories that they don't want to cut bits out so the "final" book ends up being 3!

  • Listened to the first book audio novel and it was amazing.
That is worth looking out for for fans wanting to find out what happens next…

  • I bought them long time back at the same price. came in 20 days i think. the normal postage.
