Foxtel Price Matching Using Another Foxtel Account Number

I've seen good deals like this for Foxtel quite a bit in forums. This one from July 2019:

H.D
Entertainment
Sport pack
Movie or Drama pack
= $39.00 per-month, no contract

..but with me being on a $10 mini plan (pretty much the box only) I have no quitting leverage and I get nowhere with the retentions team.

She flat out denied anyone could have that deal and she kept offering me their standard website deals, like it was some favour to me:
Sport + Drama + Entertainment = $58
So, no HD and $29 more than forum offers.

..buuuut, the call ended with her saying if I could give her an account number, she could match their deal…

Does anyone have a good deal and an account number that I could use to prove that a better deal does exist?

    Think they tightening their belts now that everyone is trying to renegotiate after it was publicised.

    I was on movie+HD for $29 for a while but wouldn’t budge from $39 recently. I moved to the $10 package since I can use Netflix on it.

    Why not just call their bluff and leave.
    You can always just then take sign on deal from the other company that sells Foxtel.

      Other company that sells foxtel? And yeh I tried to call their bluff and say Im quiting but they are happy to lose the $10/m I pay

        Telstra sells Foxtel
        And Foxtel sells Foxtel
        Confusing as Telstra owns part of Foxtel
        I’ve swapped between the two before to take advantage of sign up deal.

          Do you need to trade pvr boxes when you switch? Is there a break in service?

            @MaccDogg: We just called the new company first to see we could get the deal, then told them we’d call back. Then rang original provider and cancelled.
            Then rang new company and signed up. They did it all over the phone, didn’t need any new hardware. They have an agreement where you can migrate.

    I was tryna source a deal as a new customer.
    But because they said I’m in a opticomm neighbourhood they would do me a favour and offer me iq2 and $10 on top of normal packages.

    OP were u speaking to the South African call centre or Australian? You won’t get far with the SA ladies. They don’t event know what Foxtel is. Try calling again at a different time of day to get the Gold Coast call centre. In my experience it’s night and day difference in the deal you can get. SA just don’t have the authority to offer the epic deals.
