      Pretty sure it's Thai.

          Only to the ignorant.

            @Icecold5000: So you reckon 'Chang' is a common Thai name, more than Chinese ?

            • +6

              @jv: Chang is Thai for elephant.

              It's pronounce differently than you're probably thinking. It's pronounced kind of like it's spelled with a u instead of an a, link in the word chunk.

                @Christown:

                Chang is Thai for elephant.

                ช้าง is Thai for elephant…

                  @jv: In Thai alphabet, correct.

          • +1

            @Icecold5000: You are correct. Given that "Chang" is the Thai word for elephant, it is a very common word. As are elephants. 😀

  • 100 % Thai.. I'm not particularly fond of the taste but for that price and you want to try it, probably worth a shot.

    $13 in NSW.

  • Yuk. Good in 45degrees for $1 a can maybe

      Try the stubbies they taste better.

  • I just travelled to Phuket last week, this beer is relatively good, though I am not alcoholic. The price in Phuket is about 50THB per can in 7/11, so it is 2.4 AUD per can, to my surprise Thai beer is cheaper here.

      How big are those cans?

      I thought the 700ml bottles were 52 baht las time I checked.

      • +1

        Yes, I tried the big one, 700ml, price is 50-52 baht depends on the places (supermarket, 7/11)
        The small one I remember is about 39 baht.

          Thank god for that! I’ve had many a Changover. I guess the reduction in alcohol from 6.4% is good from that point of view. Nothing like roaming the streets of Pattaya Chang yaay in hand Russian style.

      this beer is relatively good

      that doesn't say much…

      • this beer is relatively bad

        • Compared to Fosters ?

    • Lol you got ripped!

  • +2

    Crazy price, but since they changed the recipe a few years back I can't touch this stuff. Leo is my go-to as far as Thai beers are concerned.

  • +3

    The chang-overs are terrible though

  • Last time I bought it had something floating in it like Aloe Vera

    • Did you have to pay extra?
