    Amazing price for name-branded speakers.

Now I need a Good Deal on 5.1 AV receiver.

No point spending too much with these speakers. Most people would say to spend more on the speaker set than the amp :-)
I'd suggest you go second hand. If you can do without HDMI, and use s/pdif instead, you'll find a good 5.1 receiver for much less than the cost of these speakers.

People will criticise, but it is still a lot better than TV built-in speakers or most sound bars.

If you can do without HDMI

      Don't! :)

There are lots of non-HDMI AV receivers in the second hand market out there.
But there are some HDMI A/V out there around the $100 mark. Sometimes even with speakers included.

I'd keep a lookout for them instead.

Agree with everything else you said though.

I got myself an Onkyo receiver with a bunch of HDMI inputs/outs and Wharfedale sub, satellites and front for $40.

      Gotta love gumtree.

  • Any equivalent of this but wireless setup?

    • Not at this price range, a Yamaha 208b soundbar with just the wireless sub is already over 200.

    Look what I found

However, anyone knows how these Denon system is compared to this system?

    • Hard to say but without listening to both, I'd take Denon over Logitech. Particularly with this discount.

Power ratings are likely to be atleast more accurate…

    • Very different. The Logitech Z607 system is much smaller, 80W RMS (allegedly) total, but includes the amplifier.

With no digital surround inputs, it is a bit of a joke as a surround system. OK for stereo.

  • Is the RCA cable a subwoofer cable? Just poorly named? Otherwise it's useless.

    • Yes RCA to sub.

  • Wonder if I can use the subwoofer on its own?

    • +1

Well it's just an analogue rca connection so should be okay

      • Thanks :D

Pretty confident it'd be fine, it's not a soundbar style that pairs up with a system.

    • +1

You could, but don't expect it to do better bass than a decent pair of stereo speakers.
It only has a 6" driver. Will pair fine with some desktop speakers.

      • I got Q Acoustic bookshelf speakers, but no woofer.

        • Check the specs, but if they are good 2-way speakers, I doubt you will gain anything worthwhile.

I imagine that you'd have a 5.25 inch woofers in these?

Then you won't be getting a whole lot with these, imo.

Better looking at a second hand 'proper' sub that's a 10inch.

          • @thargelios: Thanks alot guys! <3

            • @PvsNP: Plus compared to your Q Acoustics..this is..well……

You'd need a sub (new) at least around the $500-700 range, to match the quality. (so I've been reading, as I decided to not go satellites and go floor standers or bookshelfs).

  • Anyone recommend any good speaker stands?
