Seiko Watch for First Father's Day Present

Hi,

I just bought my very first Seiko watch for my husband to celebrate his first Father's Day.

However, I am not sure whether this is a good watch or good deal.

All I know Seiko is a well-known brand and I was planning to buy him a good watch for years.

Here is what I have purchased: https://www.starbuy.com.au/seiko-prospex-solar-chronograph-s…

Please let me know whether this worth it or not.

Thanks in advance.

This is part of Father's Day deals for 2019.

  • You bought it in good spirit, what you going to do if someone said if it's not worth it? You going to return it?

    • I can cancel the order if it is not shipped yet. I just want to buy something decent for him.

      • Not sure why you asking for feedback on jewelry item you bought for someone you know more than us.
It doesn't matter what we think, watch is kind of jewelry, if he likes the type, brand, design price point, who cares.

        • OP can still make all the decisions about which watch to buy, but she can get feedback on if the price she paid was a good one.

OP: Starbuy tends to have quite good prices and the price for this watch is no exception. Decent price plus local warranty plus physical offices.

  • Search by model number looks good

Starbuy is a respected seller that is known to watch collectors across the world for their competitive pricing, https://www.manontime.com/search.php?keywords=starbuy&t=123&….

    • Can vouch for starbuy and their swift delivery of goods purchased. Highly recommend. Many here do as well.

  • I won't comment on the style of the watch because I don't know what you are after but I would say that this is a large watch at 44.9mm. If your husband has a smaller than average wrist it may look overly large on his wrist. Pluses for this watch is that it is solar powered and it has sapphire glass.
There is this Citizen watch with a similar style and specifications also on the Starbuy website
    https://www.starbuy.com.au/citizen-eco-drive-steel-chronogra…
At 44 mm it is also a similar size, the only difference is that it has mineral glass while the Seiko has sapphire glass. Sapphire glass is said to be more scratch resistant.
There is this video of the Citizen watch to give you an idea of the size of the two watches.

  • It's a lovely gesture and it should last a long time.

I currently have my first Seiko away being refurbished. It was still working but needed some cosmetic love. It's 41 years old.

I wish I would have got something as thoughtful for my first father's day.

    • I too have had a Seiko for more than 40 years, and it's still fine.

  • Cool choice of design and there's a huge chance it'll be a durable watch. Got a Seiko a decade ago and it's still in a great shape.
